Devotion of Lenten Fridays The Way of the Cross, a Maronite Meditation, will be celebrated every

Friday of Lent at 7 PM followed by Benediction with the Cross. During Lent let us be generous with our time by spending a few extra minutes a day with the Lord.

Lent is a time of prayer and meditation.

2014 Bishop’s Lenten Appeal

Many depend on this “appeal” - our seminarians, retired priests, mission churches, and many other charitable causes. Like last year, there is a Bishop Appeal Contribution Envelope in your

contribution envelope boxes. Please use them & put in the collection any time during this period of Great Lent. As a reminder, our share to the Bishop’s Ap-peal is $5500, regardless of how much is collected.

LENTEN GUIDELINES FOR MARONITES

All Maronites who are physically capable, are to abstain from meat on Ash Monday (Mar. 3) and ALL Fr idays of Lent. Ash Monday and the Great Friday of the Crucifixion are also days of fasting. Fasting in the Maronite Church involves

eating & drinking nothing at all (except water & medicine) from midnight until noon. The rest of the day normal meals can be taken but without meat.

All Maronites who are physically capable are to fast on these 2 days.
