January’s Virtue & Saint
Prudence is January’s virtue of the month, it
enables one to reason and to act rightly in any
given situation, that is "right reason in ac-
tion.” This month, before making a decision,
as a family pray for guidance, seek sound ad-
vise, think about your situation, & then act
upon the decision.
Within St. Edward’s pillar of Human for-
mation, a student exhibits interpersonal skills
through collaboration while contributing to a
common goal. .
St. Boniface, the first missionary to Ger-
many. While making a prudent decision,
chopped down the sacred oak tree of the Ger-
man people, revealing the evil in such an idol.
He helped them know & understand the true
God and taught them how to worship Him
above all other things. St. Boniface, pray for
us!
MAINTENANCE POSITION
The parish is seeking a self motivated individual for part
time maintenance. Duties would be outside and inside gen-
eral repairs which include plumbing, electrical and carpentry
work. Snow and ice removal are part of this position. Please
bring a resume or questions to the parish office.
WE WANT YOUR VOICE
2020 is the year of growth for the St. Edward’s music minis-
try. The 8:30 and 10:30 Sunday masses would like to invite
you to join our ranks. The commitment is small; a 1-hour
practice on Thursday evening and singing on Sunday. Please
give this some prayerful thought. Talk to Ryker (our pianist)
after mass or call Bonnie at 208-731-7453. We think you will
find this to be a rewarding endeavor.

Capstone Missions Update and Heartfelt Thank You!
Thanks to you, our generous supporters, almost $14,000 has been raised during our
Alternative Gift Project for new laundry facilities for Nuestra Familia Orphanage in
Tijuana! Any donations above the cost of the washers and dryers will go towards
updating the electrical system needed, and pouring a concrete base to hold the ma-
chines. This will make such a difference in the everyday lives of the children and
their caregivers, and you are the ones who have made this happen, so again thank
you!
The staff and administration for Casa Hogar Maria de Inmaculada - the Hacienda as
we have known it - have changed their name to Nuestra Familia, to better reflect the
direction of the home. They are truly building a family among the children and care-
givers. Along with that, in partnership with several other organizations, they have
agreed to move the home towards a family oriented model, with children of similar
ages and gender being housed in their own space with house parents to care for
them. This has proven successful in other places and provides a more ideal atmos-
phere than the old orphanage model with big dorms, communal dining, and multiple
caregivers.
There are also big changes at St. Joseph’s, the original home where Capstone first
started assisting. The children are all grown up now, and the property has transi-
tioned to a home for young college women who grew up in orphanages. It is man-
aged by Corazon de Vida, one of our partner organizations, and the home is proving
to be a wonderful place for the young women to transition to adulthood with the
support needed while navigating all the many challenges they face after growing up
in orphanages.
And finally, we’re looking forward to our upcoming Crab Feast, and encourage you
to get your tickets as soon as possible, either online at our website -
www.capstonemissions.org or by calling Deb Miciak at 208-308-3296 or Heather
Hanson at 208-389-8331. We’re excited to announce our special guests who will be
in attendance; Emma and Juan, Nuestra Familia’s directors, and Dan, the director of
St. Joseph’s. It’s a wonderful opportunity to meet these angels and welcome them to
our parishes and community!
