Memorial of Our Lady of the Rosary is

October 7th, sometimes referred to as

the Feast of the Holy Rosary. The day

was dedicated by Pope St. Pius V who

credited a victory over the invading

Turks to the intercession of Mary

through the recitation of the Rosary.

Pope Benedict XVI described the image

of Our Lady of the Rosary in a 2007

Angelus. The Rosary is such an important

tool for prayer in our lives that the

entire month of October has been

dedicated to that beautiful prayer.

Sacrament of Confirmation

The celebration of

the Sacrament of

Confirmation for

adults will be held on

Sunday, November

22nd at 4pm in St.

Columba Cathedral.

This is a special opportunity for any Catholic

adult who has not been confirmed to join with

other adults of the diocese to receive this

important sacrament. For further information

or to register to be part of a preparation class

and the Confirmation celebration, please

contact Sr. Regina at the Parish Office no later

than Friday, October 16th.

PARISH COUNCIL is seeking nominations

for its members. Spring’s Parish Council

Election was delayed due to the Corona Virus

pandemic restrictions. Please consider who you

think would be a good representative.

Nomination forms are available the weekends

of October 10/11 & 17/18. Please make sure

to take one; return it either in the designated

basket at the rear of the Church or to the

Parish Office. The deadline is October 18th.

Parish Council will take place the weekends of

November 14/15 & 21/22. Thank you.

BECOMING CATHOLIC: The Rite of

Christian Initiation for Adults

[RCIA] is the process by which

adults are welcomed into full

communion with the Catholic

Church. It is for those who

have not been baptized, or

baptized in another Christian faith, or

those baptized Catholic as infants but have

not any other faith-formation growing up

and would like to receive Communion in the

Catholic Church.
