Ponderings of a Parochial Administrator My Dear Parishioners, This weekend we welcome Fr. Yesupadam from the Roman Catholic Dio-cese of Eluru, India. His diocese is in a very poor part of India and needs our assistance desperately. In speaking with Fr. Yesupadam, he mentioned to me how he spends each week riding a motorcycle to the different villag-es so that they can have Mass. There are so many and they are spread out so that they can only have Mass once a month. He also ministers to the or-phans of the area and tries to provide the Sacraments as much as he can. Fr. Yesupadam shared that he was an orphan himself and was raised by priest like himself. As we go forward this week, let us reflect on how blessed we are to be able to attend Mass each week and every day if we wish. Let us remember how blessed we are to have easy access to the Sacraments whenever we need them. God has truly blessed us in this country and in this time. Please be generous in returning these gifts, in particular, this weekend as we help our brothers and sisters in In-dia. Thank you for your kindness to them.

Remember, if you have any questions about our faith, history or the Church, please feel free to send your ques-tions to me at [email protected]. Your servant in Christ, Fr. John

Original Olive Wood Handi-crafts from Bethlehem

September 10th& 11th after all Masses Nativity Sets – Creches – Rosaries – Statu-ettes – Christmas Ornaments – Home, Office

and Church Décor From Bethlehem in the Holy Land, The Bannoura family of Bethle-hem Handicrafts imports products from the Christian community of Bethlehem. They are pleased to share their family

story and trade to all those who will be pre-sent after all masses on September 10th & 11th. As Joseph taught Christ the trade of car-pentry in Nazareth, the Bannoura family passed the trade of olive wood artisanship from generation to generation until the pre-sent. They take great pride in this distinct and traditional craft, which is one of the principal sources of income for the small but resilient Christian community. Each item for sale is handcrafted from olive wood with care and precision. Any number of items ranging from Nativity sets to Christ-mas ornaments will make ideal Christmas gifts for family, friends and coworkers. Other items such as statuettes and ro-sary beads will make for excellent Baptismal, First Communion and Confir-mation gifts throughout the year. For more information and to view available prod-ucts, please visit-www.bethlehemhandicrafts.com.

Second Collection: This weekend at St. Dominic’s, we are honored to have Fr. Yesupa-dam from the Diocese of Eluru, India visiting. Fr. Yesupadam’s dio-cese is in a very impoverished part of India. Due the fact that the villages in the Fr. Yesupadam’s diocese are spread out over a large geographical area, the people can only attend Mass monthly and possibly receive the other Sacraments at that time. Please remember Fr. Yesupadam’s diocese and give very generously! Thank you!
