St. Croix Central 2 nd Grade Learning Targets Third Quarter ___________________________________________________________________ Mathematics All students should be able to: Add and subtract within 1,000 Add up to four two-digit numbers Solve word problems that use dollar bills, quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies Solve word problems with unknown numbers Tell time to the nearest five minutes and use AM and PM Draw picture and bar graphs to represent data and solve problems using the information The Standards for Mathematical Practices are a focus throughout all grading periods. All students should be able to (1) Make sense of problems and persevere in solving them; (2) Reason abstractly and quantitatively; (3) Construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others; (4) Model with mathematics; (5) Use appropriate tools strategically; (6) Attend to precision; (7) Look for and make use of structure; (8) Look for and express regularity in repeated reasoning.
