St. John’s Church is….. An Historic ChurchSt. Johns Church is the founding church of Cullman and a church with strong Reformation Protestant roots. We began as a German-speaking congregation but, through God’s grace and guidance, have become a community church with people from all religious backgrounds and traditions.

WELCOME St. John’s is…. A Welcoming Church visitors are always welcome here. Do come again soon to Worship with us.

FLOWERS Flowers are placed on the altar today to the Glory of God and in loving memory of our son-in-law Lee Smith and in honor of our children Tracy, Pam and Sheri, our son in law Deric and our grandchildren by Harold and Betty Britton.

SYMPATHYChristian love and sympathy is extended to the family of Mr. Paul Rigsby, husband of Etna, father of Billy (Carol) Rigsby and Cheri (Lachlan) Powell and grandfather of Lee (Ginger) Powell. Funeral services were held on Monday July 16, 2012 at Moss Service Chapel with The Reverend’s John Richter and Jim Phillips officiating with interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Christian love and sympathy is extended to the family of Mrs. Gracie Mayhall, mother of August ,David ,Rachel Mayhall and Lisa Griffin. Funeral services were held on Wednesday July 18, 2012 at Moss Service Chapel by Derek Dale with interment at Cullman City Cemetery.

PRAYER TIME During the month of July the pastors will begin their weekly staff meeting with a time of prayer beginning at 9:30 a.m. If you have prayer needs or would like to join them in prayer for St. John’s, you are welcome to come to the sanctuary on Tuesday’s between 9:30 and 9:45 a.m.

PLEASE EXCUSE OUR ACTIVITY! When you notice any of the staff slipping out of 8:00 worship on Sundays, please know we are preparing for Sunday School, conducting rehearsals for the upcoming service, etc. If you see us on the move, please pray for us and for all of our worship services!

2013 CONFIRMATION CLASS Letter’s have been mailed to the up-coming Confirmation class to begin in August. If you did not receive a letter, contact Karen in the church office. This is for all students entering the 6th grade this coming school year. Classes are held on Sunday morning during the Sunday School time and Wednesday evenings class time.

The month of July our meditation moment in the service focuses on Living 659. It is about loving God with our heart, soul and strength; while teaching our children,

youth and one another to obey God’s commands and go and make disciples. This is not a program, but learning a new way of life, LIVING 659.
