St. Claire Regional Medical Center
St. Claire Regional (SCR) is proud to announce that they have been awarded a 3- year term of accreditation by the American College of Radiology (ACR) in digital mammography, computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Digital mammography, CT scanning (sometimes called CAT scanning) and
MRI scanning are all non-invasive, advanced diagnostic imaging services that help physicians to diagnose and treat various medical conditions.
The ACR gold seal of accreditation represents the highest level of image quality and patient safety. It is awarded only to facilities meeting ACR Practice Guidelines and Technical Standards after a rigorous review by board-certified physicians who are experts in the diagnostic imaging field. Image quality, personnel qualifications, adequacy of facility equipment, quality control procedures and quality assurance programs are all assessed.
“St. Claire Regional takes great pride in the quality of our diagnostic imaging services,” says Charlotte Lewis, MT (ASCP), SCR Diagnostic Services Administrative Director. “We provide some of the most sophisticated imaging and interventional radiology services available in our region and are extremely proud to have received a gold seal accreditation by the ACR.”

MSU’s Tuba and Trombone Bands Preform Holiday Classics at St. Claire Regional
Morehead State University Trombone Band preforming on Tuesday, Decemeber 13.
Last Thursday, December 8, Representatives Rocky Adkins and John Will Stacy hosted a public ribbon cutting ceremony at the Center for Health, Education and Research to celebrate the re-opening of Second Street. Both representatives spoke
about Morehead being a good example of a community that has achieved great things as the private sector and the public sector work so well together. The newly remodeled second street realigns the downtown thoroughfare with a new state highway intersection.
Representatives Rocky Adkins and John Will Stacy along with Bart Bryant, Chief District Engineer and community leaders including SCR management lined up to take part as the ribbon was officially cut, re-opening Second Street.

As you rush to buy the perfect Christmas gift, pause and consider the meaning of what you’re doing. When you make a symbolic gift to St. Claire Regional in honor of someone on your holiday list, you enable your friend or loved one to be part of something bigger than themselves.
Instead of material possessions honor your friends, family or business associates. These gifts will be shared with SCR patients and families in need. The St. Claire Foundation will send a Christmas card listing your gift to the person you honor. You may also choose a gift to memorialize someone, and a card will be sent to one of his/her loved ones.
Together, we can accomplish so much to make this Christmas brighter for those who need to see a glimmer of God’s light in their lives. Thanks!

St. Claire Regional Hospice Luminaries
T he holidays are a time for being with family and for remembering loved ones who have passed on. We cordially invite you to remember and celebrate the lives that St. Claire Hospice has
touched this past year in an event called A Light to Remember.
Throughout December, luminaries will be placed on the front lawn of St. Claire Hospice & Palliative Care House to memorialize those who have passed away in our service in 2011. If you would like to include other loved ones’ names or honor a special person during this holiday season, you may give a tax-deductible donation, using the form below. Hospice revenues do not cover the cost of our care, and your generous contribution will help extend services to others in need.
The luminaries will be displayed until a closing public reception on Jan. 6, 2012 from 2-4 p.m. in the St. Claire Hospice & Palliative Care House. Refreshments will be served. For more information, call the hospice office at 783-6808 or 1-800-264-0616.
