NEWSLETTER Term 4, Week 6 12th November 2021
Dear Families,
Our Prep 2022 Orientation sessions commence on Tuesday, 16th November, these will be held
over the next 3 weeks and are an opportunity for the children to become a little familiar with the
school prior to commencing next year. The 2022 Prep teachers will be available so both parents
and children will be able to meet them prior to the beginning of the 2022 school year. While the
children are in class there will be sessions for parents in the hall to provide information to assist
you in your child's transition from kinder to school so it is important that parents attend these
sessions. Entry will be via the gate closest to the church and all adults attending will need to check
in on the QR code and sanitise on entry to the hall. We ask that you keep your distance from each
other at all times.
The transition day for our current Year Preps to Year 5s will be held on Tuesday, 14th December.
Children will find out who their teacher is and what class they will be in on this day.
Congratulations to our Year 6 students who received the Sacrament of
Confirmation last night. This is an important step in their faith journey highlighting
the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Thank you to Mrs Madigan, Mr Adams, Mrs Anderson
and Miss Simmons who prepared the students for receiving this Sacrament. I ask
you to keep these students in your thoughts and prayers at this special time.

Sacrament of Eucharist & Retreat Day
The Year 4 Sacrament of Eucharist will be celebrated on Wednesday, 24th November and Thursday. All families have received information about which session their child must attend.
Please note the following restrictions apply:
Victorian Restrictions apply when gathering as a community in the Church. As per Government
Guidelines, all those who attend a mass at the Church must be fully vaccinated. A staff
member will be present asking for your official digital COVID vaccine certificate at the
entrance. You will be required to check in using the QR code provided.
Please note numbers have increased and therefore we can have the Communicant + 8 double
vaccinated family members who are 16 and above. Children 12 months and above are
considered as an attendee.
As part of the preparation, the First Eucharist Candidates will be sharing a retreat day to reflect on
and consolidate what they have been learning about Eucharist.
The Eucharist Retreat Day will be held on Tuesday, 23rd
of November
at St Catherine’s during normal school hours and will be facilitated by
the Yr 4 Teachers and Caroline Madigan. Please refer to the eform sent
via Operoo for further information.

Graduation Jackets - Year 6 2022
A reminder to our current Year 5 families,
orders for Year 6, 2022 Graduation Jackets are
due by Friday, 19th November. Sample sizes
are available for students to try
on in the Year 5 space. It is
recommended students try the
jackets before placing an order
as we are unable to exchange
sizes if they do not fit.
Remembrance Day
Thank you to our school leaders Gabriella and
Ned for representing St Catherine of Siena at
the Remembrance Day Memorial service held at
the Cenotaph on High Street on
Thursday, 11th November.
Thank you also to Miss
Marantelli for accompanying our
school leaders on the day.
Year 3/4 Amazing Race
A reminder to Year 3 and 4 parents, permission is required for students to attend the Amazing
Race Day on Friday, 26th November at Lady Northcote Camp. Please log into Operoo and
respond to the eform as soon as possible.
