Back to School Prayer
Dear God,
Thank you for the gift of my children.
Please watch over them as they go back to school, and protect
them from negative influences.
Help them be a light to others and help them show love, care, and
respect for their friends and teachers.
Please protect them from bullies, but if they face one, give them
courage to stand up for themselves and others.
Help them to remember when they are scared or afraid, You are
there with them. As much as I love my children, You love them even
more and I know You will be watching out for them.
Amen—-unknown

Rita Brockish
July 31
Rita & her late husband, Herman, raised their family in
St. Marys; she has been a resident of Gran Villas for twelve
years & faithfully attends Mass celebrated on the 3rd
Wednesday of each month at the residence.
My Lord God, I have no idea of where I am going. I do not see the road ahead of me. I cannot know for certain where it will end. Nor do I know myself, and the fact that I think I am following your will does not mean that I actually am. But I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you, and I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing. I hope that I will never do any
thing apart from that desire and I know that if I do this you will lead me by the right road, though I may never know anything about it. Therefore I will trust you always though I may seem to be lost in the shadow of death. I will not fear, for you are ever with me and you never leave me to face my perils alone.
Faith is the daring of the soul go farther than it can see.—-William Newton Clarke

RCIA WILL BEGIN
In October
Date to be announced later in upcoming
bulletins & in the October newsletter ——-
If you know of someone who has expressed interest in be-
coming Catholic please speak with them and encourage them.
The RCIA program does not obligate them to become a
Catholic; they would be free to leave at any time. However, if
they decide to go through the process and want to be
baptized and confirmed as a Catholic that would be wonderful.
Also, if you are an adult Catholic who has never been con-
firmed, for whatever reason, please contact Joe to sign up; that
way you will be able to complete your sacraments of initiation
and receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Or, if you would like to learn more about your Catholic faith,
please join us.

The body is a sacred garment. It’s your
first and last garment; it is what you enter
life in and what you depart life with, and it
should be treated with honor.

Core Team:
Made up of committed individuals who can be empowered and entrusted to serve
as leaders of the programs. It is the core team members who are given the biggest
opportunity to make an impact in the life of our youth. This occurs through positive
relationships with youth and by life witness. Core Team Members are asked to
attend the meetings twice a month as well as participate in Youth Ministry
activities. Contact Joe for open positions.
If you are interested or know of someone who would be a good fit for our Youth
Ministry, please contact Joe at the parish office or

Country Store: now is a good time to consider
what crafts you would be able to make and
donate to the Country Store. Craft items are

newsletter and upcoming bulletins.
Prayer for Labor Day
Lord, on this Labor Day, we thank you for
the blessing of work.
We ask for strength to complete each
day.
We ask for rest when we are weary.
We ask for guidance for everyone seeking
employment.
We ask that You be with those whose
faces we might never see but who work
tirelessly each day for the good of us all.
Amen.
Labor Day was created as a way to acknowledge and pay
tribute to the work force for all they have done to make
our country prosperous and strong.
The first Labor Day was celebrated in New York City
and other cities followed their example in following
years. In 1894 Congress passed a law making the first
Monday of September a legal holiday.
Gratitude for the Day
Jesus Christ, my God, I adore You and
thank You for all the graces You have given
me this day. I offer You my sleep and all the
moments of the night, and I ask You to keep
me without sin. I therefore place myself in
Your sacred side and under the mantle of our
Lady, my mother. Let Your holy angels stand
about me and keep me in peace and let Your
blessing be upon me. Amen.
—St. Alphonsus Liguori
The soul that is united with God is feared by
the devil as one who is where God Himself
is. —-St. John of the Cross
September 2015 P age 7
“Every worthy reception of Holy Commun-
ion deepens the life of God in our souls,
draws us closer to the Holy Trinity and makes
us more pleasing to the Divine Majesty”.
“We need the grace that only Christ can give,
and that is why He is on earth, present in the
Holy Eucharist.
...we profess our love for God in the Real pres-
ence when we come to pray before our Lord in
the Blessed Sacrament”.
On the Real Presence of Jesus Christ
John A. Hardon, S.J.
“ Holy Communion protects the soul from the
assaults of temptation like a supernatural armor
against the attacks of the world and the devil”.
“We definitely need to receive Holy
Communion as often as we can to protect
us against the virulent hatred found in
Christ’s enemies today”.
In every need let me come to
You with humble trust saying,
“Jesus help me.”
In all my doubts, perplexities,
and temptations, “Jesus help
me.”
In hours of loneliness, weari-
ness, and trials, “Jesus help me.”
In the failure of my plans and
hopes, “Jesus help me.”
In the failure of my plans and
hopes; in disappointments, trou-
bles and sorrow, “Jesus help
me.”
When others fail me and Your
grace alone can assist me, “Jesus
help me.”
When I throw myself on Your
tender love as a father and sav-
ior, “Jesus help me.”
When my heart is cast down by
failure at seeing no good come
from my efforts, “Jesus help
me.”
When I feel impatient and my
cross irritates me, “Jesus help
me.”
When I am ill and my head and
hands cannot work, and I am
lonely, “Jesus help me.”
Always, always in spite of weak-
ness, falls, and shortcomings of
every kind, “Jesus help me and
never forsake me.” Amen.
Jesus, Help Me
