You must also have completed the diocesan Virtus Program and be in compliance with it to work with our youth. Note: Saturday Dec. 8th is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary — Mass will be at 11:00 am It is a Holy Day of Obligation- Holy Day Saturday, Dec. 8th — 11:00 AM St. Joachim & St Anne are the parents of the blessed mother Mary. They are the Grandma and Grandpa of Jesus. What we know about Mary's parents comes from the Gospel of James. Not part of the Bible, it is a respected text, written around 170 AD. It gives insight into the early life of Mary. Joachim was described as a rich and pious man of the house of David, who regularly gave to the poor. But as his wife was barren, priests of the temple rejected his sacrifices. Childlessness was interpreted as a sign of God’s anger. So, Joachim went into the desert for 40 days where he fasted and did penance. Angels appeared to this holy couple and promised them a child. In an answer to their prayers and suffering they were given the daughter Mary, who was conceived without sin, a virtue we will remember next Saturday on December 8— The Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Christ. This year Bishop Warfel did not abrogate or dispense this feast Day—It is a Holy Day of

participation of any of our parishioners or persons

who would like to come to a deeper knowledge of

the catholic faith.

December 10, 2012 starts at 6:00 p.m.

at the Church Center

Come join us in this night of fun and fellowship. It’s for all women of

St. Anthony’s Church. So, if you are not a member of PCCW, please

be our guest & bring your funds to bid on & purchase some wonderful

handmade Silent Auction items courtesy of the St Anthony PCCW

members & families.

This is the major fundraiser for St. Anthony’s PCCW (sorry no

cabbage burgers this year) and CCW has committed to helping fund

Justin Baeten’s Eagle Scout project which is to re-roof the Rectory—

Priest’s residence. I have already had members commit to

bringing homemade salsa, cheesecakes, wooden toys,

embroidery, so much fun and lots, lots, more. I hope you will

join us as a guest and find just the perfect Christmas gift at our

would like to pre-order rolls for pick up after mass should

contact Sherry at 633-2775 or Rita at 969-1360.

The rolls and coffee will also be served after mass on

Sunday on a donation basis. All proceeds and donations

will go to the Wednesday Book Study Group to pay for our

babysitters.

center. Our speakers will be our very own Diane McCoy & Mary

Shrader. These lovely ladies will be sharing an evening of song &

wonderful opportunity to grow spiritually with other Christians in
