Kannada Competitions

Report St.Anne’s First grade college Department of kannada conduct kannada

competitions for the Kannada students regarding interclass competition on 28th and 11th,12th

and 13th August 2014 in room D-2,13 and 23. On 11th kannada bhavageethe solo singing

competition and kannada jaanapadha geethe solo singing,on 12th kannada debate competition,

on 13th kannada poetry recital, kannada quiz,kannada pick and speak, kannada essay writing

competitions singing, kannada quiz competition were held.

In kannada bhavageethe solo singing : Kavana.K of III B.com ‘B’ won the 1st prize, Shusma of I

BBM won the 2nd prize, Divya.V.S of III Bsc and Shushmitha shetty of II B.com ‘B’ won the 3rd

prize.In kannada janapadha geethe solo singing : Padma.V of IIB.com ‘C’ won the 1st prize,

Monica of I BBM won the 2nd prize, Sowmya.D and Sumathi of IIB.com ‘B’ won the 3rd prize. In

poetry recital competition : Pavithra.N of II B.com ‘C’ won the 1st prize, Manju.G of III BBM won

the 2nd prize, Shushmitha shetty of II B.com ‘B’ and Sharanya of III B.com ‘C’ won the 3rd prize.

In pick and speak competition : Sowmya.D of II B.com ‘B’ won the 1st prize, Tejaswini of II

?B.com ‘B’ won the 2nd prize, Ashwini.S of II B.com ‘B’ won the 3rd prize. In debate competition :

Divya.V.S of III Bsc won the 1st prize, Harshitha.M of II B.com ‘B’ won the 2nd prize, Ashwini of III

Bsc and Aarokya Mary of II B.com ‘B’ won the 3rd prize. In kannada quiz competition : Sr.Maria

and group of I Bsc won the 1st prize,Sharanya and group of III B.com ‘C’ won the 2nd prize,

Sujatha and group of II B.com ‘C’ won the 3rd prize.

For all these competitions Dr.D.Bharath [HOD and lecturer] and Dr.K.C.Munikrishnappa

[lecturer] were judges.

PERFORMING ARTS 2014-2015 REPORT

The department of Kannada on 2nd January 2015 from the

students of 1st B.com organized an Art Performing Enact of a mini

scene about Shakuntala and Dhyushanta. This was based on

“SHAKUNTALOPAKYANA” Kannada text syllabus poem.

On 23rd February 2015 from the students of 2nd BBA organized an

art performing enact of a mini scene about Krishna and Karna this

was based on their Kannada text syllabus “RAVISUTHANA KIVIYALI

BITTIDANU BAYAVA”. Poem by the poet Kumaravyasa of 15th

century

Dr.D.Bharath and Dr.K.C.Munikrishnappa accompanied with the

students.

VIDEO SHOW 2014-2015

REPORT

On 5th January 2015 Department of Kannada arranged

a special video show for 1 BA students about “CHOMANA

DUDI”. This show is to create awareness among students

about caste exploitation in India. One of the poems named

‘NOVEL’ is based on untouchability; regarding to this the

video show was arranged to Dr.Munikrishnappa

accompanied students in D-21.

REPORT

St.Anne’s First Grade College for women conducted inter-collegiate

competition for the students on 5th February 2015. In this Epoch-2015 X-

UBERANZA Kannada department also conducted Kannada Debate competition,

Kannada Bhavageete group singing competition for the students. These

competitions were held in D-13. Fourteen students from various colleges

participated in the Kannada Debate. Topic given for Debate is “Pradeshika

Bhasha Shikshanadidnda Mathra Kannadada Belavanige Saadya”. Rahul (Surana

college) secured 1 prize’ Siddartha .M.S. (Sheshadripuram college) secured 2nd

prize and Meghana (saurana college) secured 3rd prize.

In Kannada Bhavageetha group singing competition Geetha ana group

(sheshdripuram college), Sushmitha and group (St.Anne’s First Grade College)

participated. In this Sushmitha and group (St. Anne’s) secured 1st place, Geetha

and group (Sheshadripuram) secured 2nd place.

Dr.D.Bharath and Dr.K.C. Munikrishnappa of Kannada faculty judged these

two competitions.

HUMANITIES FEST 2014-2015

REPORT

On 4th March 2015 Humanity Fest was

organized by the department of English, Hindi,

Psychology, Journalism and Kannada of St. Anne’s

College. Regarding to this, department of Kannada

organized Kannada quiz, Kannada Chart exhibition

and Kannada slogan writing for the students in

Room D-20.

Dr.D.Bharath (HOD and Lecturer) and

Dr.K.C.Munikrishnappa (Lecturer) were the judges

for all these competitions.
