Earlyonthefirstdayoftheweek,whileitwass>lldark,MaryMagdalenecametothetombandsawthatthestonehadbeenremovedfromthetomb.SosheranandwenttoSimonPeterandtheotherdisciple,theonewhomJesusloved,andsaidtothem,“TheyhavetakentheLordoutofthetomb,andwedonotknowwheretheyhavelaidhim.”ThenPeterandtheotherdisciplesetoutandwenttowardthetomb.Thetwowererunningtogether,buttheotherdiscipleoutranPeterandreachedthetombfirst.Hebentdowntolookinandsawthelinenwrappingslyingthere,buthedidnotgoin.ThenSimonPetercame,followinghim,andwentintothetomb.Hesawthelinenwrappingslyingthere,andthecloththathadbeenonJesus’head,notlyingwiththelinenwrappingsbutrolledupinaplacebyitself.Thentheotherdisciple,whoreachedthetombfirst,alsowentin,andhesawandbelieved;forasyettheydidnotunderstandthescripture,thathemustrisefromthedead.Thenthedisciplesreturnedtotheirhomes.
