All Are Welcome !

Friends,

The theme for the third Sunday of Advent is “joyful joy.” However, since that seems redundant, we’ve entitled it “unabashed joy.” Yes, how do we lift our voices in song in times like these? It seems a daunting task. How

do we lift our voices in praise and thanksgiving when so much of our lives seem worthy of la-ment and intercession?

Christian joy is not naïve; it is not denial of reality. In fact, joy is the affirmation of the truest thing in this life. Joy holds hope and truth together. It reminds us that, despite the pain of our current circumstances, God is with us and can be trusted. God is with us in Jesus Christ and is working to redeem, restore and reconcile all of creation and humanity to God. That is what brings us unabashed joy.

At this Advent and Christmas season, in what ways can you share the joy with others? Offer words of encouragement. Be thoughtful to others. Act graciously toward others, offering the same love and joy you know through Christ to others.

May the joy of the Lord be your strength,

Pastor Jeff

Your efforts to keep contributions to the church current are appreciated.
