ST. ANDREW’S CATHOLIC CHURCH MAY 24, 2020
St. Francis House is accepting much needed food donations at 836 Campbell Ave. Curb side drop off is available from 9:00am—12:00pm. Please call (540) 268-0044 to make a drop-off appointment. They need diapers, wipes and fresh produce. For other donation options, email Megan at [email protected].
St. Francis House needs volunteers! If you do not fall into any of the vulnerable categories and can give a few hours of your time, they can use your help! Volunteering might be a bit scary with everything going on, but if you are interested, please get in touch with CCC. In light of that, they have sped up their volunteer process. Those interested can visit https://www.cccofva.org/volunteer to fill out an application. Be sure to specify that you're looking to volunteer with the food pantry. Once you complete your application, you'll be forwarded directly to staff that manages the food pantry. The Parish Office will be closed Monday, May 25 for Memorial Day.
Because of the COVID-19 Virus restrictions on gatherings, St. Andrew’s Diocesan Cemetery will not be celebrating our annual Memorial Day Liturgy at the cemetery on Monday, 25, 2020. However, Memorial Day flags will be posted on
our Veterans’ graves during this special weekend and through Flag Day, June 14. Please keep in your prayers all of our deceased veterans buried at St. Andrew’s who unselfishly gave their life so that we could have the freedoms we enjoy today. God bless them and those serving in the Armed Forces today. If you have any questions, please contact Mandy Tolano at 540-595-7173.
The Ascension of the Lord
665 Christ's Ascension marks the definitive entrance of Jesus' humanity into God's heavenly
domain, whence he will come again (cf. Acts 1:11); this humanity in the meantime hides him
from the eyes of men (cf. Col 3:3).
666 Jesus Christ, the head of the Church, precedes us into the Father's glorious kingdom
so that we, the members of his Body, may live in the hope of one day being with him for ever.
667 Jesus Christ, having entered the sanctuary of heaven once and for all, intercedes constantly
for us as the mediator who assures us of the permanent outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
