“BABY BOTTLES FOR LIFE”

OCTOBER 13TH AND 14TH In October St. Andrew the Apostle will conduct its Baby Bottles for Life campaign to benefit, support and educate pregnant women facing crisis or unintended pregnancies. The funds collected through the Bottles for Life campaign support the programs and services of the Waterleaf Medical Clinic and Education and Resource Center located in Aurora. Waterleaf provides practical help; pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, STD testing and treatment as well as continuing education and support for women in our community who would otherwise be at risk for choosing abortion. Last year with the support of churches like St. Andrew the Apostle, Waterleaf served 846 clients, performed 540 pregnancy tests, 404 ultrasounds and rescued 83 babies. Baby bottles will be distributed to parishioners after the 4:00 PM Mass on September 29th and after all Masses on September 30th to take home and fill with spare change, cash, or a check. Bottles can be returned the weekends of October 6th and 7th, 13th and 14th, and 20th and 21st. There will be a basket in the vestibule of Church where you can leave them. Please pick up a baby bottle after Mass and fill it with your heartfelt financial donation. Please make checks payable to Waterleaf. Your support is greatly appreciated. For more information call:

TRI-LINGUAL HOLY HOUR OF PRAYER

HEALING OF THE CHURCH In light of the disconcerting news in the Church these last few weeks, Father Maciej and Father Jesus have decided to have a Holy Hour for the healing of our Church. During these trying times, many are questioning their faith. But the reason to stay Catholic is because of Christ and His love for all of us. Join the parish and bring your friends on Friday, September 21 at 6:00 PM to pray for the Church, its members and healing.

Catechetical Sunday, TODAY: September 16, 2018

Each year the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops selects a Sunday in September for parishes, in the U.S., to celebrate the sharing of our faith. Catechetical Sunday is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the role that each person plays, by virtue of Baptism, in handing on the faith and being a witness to the Gospel. Catechetical Sunday is an opportunity for all to rededicate themselves to this mission as a community of faith. Those who the Community has designated to serve as catechists or Catholic school teachers will be called forth to be commissioned for their ministry—”Enlisting Witnesses for Jesus Christ.” Parents are truly the primary catechists of their children. They prepare the soil and plant the first seeds of faith. Today, Catechetical Sunday, we not only highlight the work of catechists in parishes and schools, but we also commend parents and guardians and encourage them to take seriously their role of making their Catholic households a place where faith is passed on to the next generation.—“Enlisting Witnesses for Jesus Christ.”

St. Andrew the Apostle We Care Food Pantry The St. Andrew We Care Food Pantry is open every Wednesday from 10:00 am. until 12:30 p.m. for any eligible family in Romeoville in need of food assistance.

Our pantry is open only to Romeoville residents so proof of residency and an ID must be shown upon sign-in each week. If you are a parishioner of St. Andrew and you find yourself in need of food assistance, you are more than welcome to come to the We Care Food Pantry also. Proof of residency is a utility bill with your name and address on it plus your Driver’s License or State of Illinois ID. That must be brought in each time you come for food assistance.

The Pantry is located at 219 Arlington. For further information, please contact Shirley Grzenia at (630) 945-1317. This is the new phone number to call for food pantry inquiries and assistance. Thank you and God Bless.
