Ushers: K a y l a M a h f o u d , J e s s i c a T a nIntroduction Niamh GrahamWe are gathered together this evening to celebrate our time at St Agatha’s School. This marks the close of our Primary School years, but with every door we close a new one opens. So tonight we also celebrate looking ahead as we take the next step in our journey and move on to high school.

Annie DittmarWe are here because of the hard work and dedication of so many people – our parents, carers, family, parish community and our teachers. We would like to begin our celebration this evening by remembering the teachers of St Agatha’s School who have guided us through the past seven years. We now will bring up a candle to remember our teachers, those present today and those who have moved on.

Two candles are carried down and place on a small table at the front of the church.(Angelo Garcia, Aaron Kustandi)

Thomas PrattThe memories we take are precious. We know that we have all grown and enriched our lives with the experiences of being part of St Agatha’s, Pennant Hills. We ask for God’s help to stand up for what we believe and for what we know is right. Wherever we may go, whatever we may do, may God be there to guide and care for each of us on our journey.

To begin the celebration of our Graduation Mass please, stand for our opening hymn

LITURGY OF THE WORD

First Reading Nicholas Hammond and Rebecca Wood

A reading from the book of Ecclesiastes (3:1-12)For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die;a time to kill, and a time to heal;a time to break down, and a time to build up;a time to weep, and a time to laugh;a time to mourn, and a time to dance;a time to throw stones away, and a time to gather stones together;a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;a time to seek, and a time to lose;a time to keep, and a time to throw away;a time to tear and a time to sew;a time to keep silent, and a time to speak;

a time to love, and a time to hate;a time for war, and a time for peace. What gain have the workers from their toil? I have the business that God has given to everyone to be busy with. He has made everything suitable for its time; moreover, he has put a sense of past and future into their minds, yet they cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.I know there is nothing better for them than to be happy and enjoy themselves as long as they live

The word of the Lord.

All: Thanks be to God

A Trusting Psalm by Kevin Bates sm

Second Reading Jayden TaoukA reading from the first letter of John (1John 4: 7-12)

My dear friends, we must love each other.Love comes from God, and when we love each other, it shows that we have been given new life.We are now God’s children and we know him.God is love, and everyone who doesn’t love others has never known him.God showed his love for us when he sent his only Son into the world to give us life.Real love is not our love for God, but his love for us.God sent his Son to be the sacrifice by which our sins are forgiven.Beloved, since God loved us so much, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God;If we love one another, God lives in us, and his love is perfected in us.

The Word of the Lord.

All: Thanks be to God

Father Harry: A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew (6:25-34)

All: Glory to you, Lord

Jesus said to his disciples:“Don’t worry about having something to eat, drink, or wear. Isn’t life more than food or clothing?Look at the birds in the sky! They don’t plant or harvest. They don’t even store grain in the barns.Yet your Father in heaven takes care of them.Aren’t you worth more than birds?“Can worry make you live longer? Why worry about clothes?Look how the wild flowers grow. They don’t work hard to make their clothes. But I tell you that Solomon with all his wealth was not as well clothed as one of them.God gives such beauty to everything that grows in the fields, even though it is here today and thrown into a fire tomorrow. He will surely do more for you!Why do you have such little faith?“Don’t worry and ask yourselves,‘Will we have anything to eat? Will we have anything to drink? Will we have clothes to wear?’Only people who don’t know God are always worrying about such things.Your father in heaven knows that you need all of these. But more than anything else, put God’s work first and do what he wants. Then all other things will be yours as well.”

The Gospel of the Lord.

All: Praise to you Lord, Jesus Christ.
