SSPC PA 2 Measurement of Dry Coating Thickness with Magnetic Gages 1. Take minimum 5 spot measurement readings from 1 to 10m 2 area. 2. Each spot measurement consists of average of 03 gage readings in 1.5” diameter circle. 3. Take average of all 05 spot measurements. 4. Readings acceptable if: a. No spot measurement < 80% of DFT b. Average of spot measurement ≥ DFT. 5. If any spot measurement < 80% DFT, then take more readings to isolate the area of lesser thickness. (Note: Individual gage readings inside spot circle may be less than 80% of DFT)
