1st Sunday in Lent

PSALM 90:15–16,1

Invocabit me, et ego exaudiam eum: eripiam eum, et glorificabo eum: longitudine dierum adimplebo eum. Ps. Qui habitat in adjutorio Altissimi, in protectione Dei cæli commorabitur.

When he calls to me, I will answer; I will rescue him and give him honour. With long life, I will satisfy him. Ps. He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High shall abide in the protection of the God of heaven.

2nd Sunday in Lent

PSALM 26:8–9,1

Tibi dixit cor meum, quæsivi vultum tuum, vultum tuum, Domine, requiram: ne avertas faciem tuam a me. Ps. Dominus illuminatio mea et salus mea: quem timebo ?

My heart said to you, “I sought your face, O Lord, it is your face that I seek; do not hide your face from me.” Ps. The Lord is my light and my help; whom shall I fear?

PSALM 90:4–5

Scapulis suis obumbrabit tibi Dominus, et sub pennis eius sperabis: scuto circum-dabit te veritas eius. Ps. Dicet Domino: Susceptor meus es, non timebis a timore nocturno a sagitta volante per diem.

The Lord will overshadow you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge. His truth shall compass you like a shield. Ps. He shall say to the Lord: You are my protector, nor shall you be afraid of the terror of the night, nor the arrow in the day.
