Happy Labor Day Brothers and Sisters,

I’m not sure if everyone knows but one of our Labor Day floats was stolen from the

Union Halls parking lot. Myself and Jason Ballard took a day off of work and went

to pick up a new trailer and the material to build the seating for the float. Jason was

gracious enough to let us build the float at his home. We got a lot accomplished that

first day. The following Monday Rick Chumbley, Jake Anderson, Mike Jones, Dal-

las Goslar and Matt Nelson helped finish up the float. Without their hard work we

would have a hard time getting everything done.

I hope everyone plans on coming out to the Labor Day parade. It was voted on sev-

eral months ago to spend $5,000.00 dollars on candy so make sure that you attend

and help give it out. After the parade there will be lots of fun activities for the kids

at the Labor park.

We will need help getting the Jolly Holiday lighting displays all set up at the new

site. The new location is at Adventureland’s camp grounds. We will be working

on this around the first of November.

Work in our area remains very strong with 525 travelers working in our jurisdic-

tion. We owe them a huge thanks for coming to our area and helping us man the

work that we have, so thanks to all the Brothers and sisters that have traveled to

Local #347’s jurisdiction.

The International convention will be held in St. Louis in September. I’m really

looking forward to going. There will be a lot of important business taken care of

at the convention, I will report on that next month.

In Solidarity
