    OPTICAL BEARING DEVICE

  • Position fixes created with the OBD are much faster and results in a much more accurate position estimate than the laborious procedures used with conventional bearing device.

    The resulting Estimated Position (EP) is automatically logged in the ECDIS Log-Book, meeting vetting and IMO requirements for independent position fixes.
