Yearly apply all the updates and fixes available, with critical fixes applied as needed.

PROS:

Keeps us close to current for support

CONS:

Time consuming for technical and functional team

Access to new updates and fixes is only yearly

Major effort required to preserve our custom code

Impossible to thoroughly test

Considering……

Quarterly apply all available updates and fixes to a DMU environment. Only apply critical fixes to live environments when needed. Catch up remainder before next product upgrade.

PROS:

Keeps us current for support

Minimal impact to custom code

New updates and fixes readily available for review

Reduced testing requirements

CONS:

Large volume of updates and fixes to be applied before next product upgrade
