Sri Gopinatho Vijayathe

Sri Dhruva kumara, at his tender age of 5, proceeds to the forest from the Uttanapada kingdom

to see the Paramathma, as advised by his mother. On the way to the forest, Narada maharishi

met Dhruva and gave Sri Vasudeva dwadashkra manthra upadesha.

“Om Namo Bhagavathe Vadudevaya”. (Vasudeva manthra is one amongst the Asta maha

manthra – having 12 letters with 4 padhagalu; Anirudha, Pradyumna, Sankarshana and

Vasudeva as 4 Padha devathegalu, 4 roopas of Lord and by splitting 12 Aksharas it is

Keshavadhi 12 masa niyamaka roopas and further expanding it to 24 roopas by considering

pakshas (1/2 month).

Dhruva did the tapas near Yamuna banks standing on one leg with folded hands, living on

eating leaves, fruits and finally with air only. He meditates on the Bimbha Murthy paramatma

(who is residing on his hrudaya kamala). Sri Narayana satisfied with the tapas, appears before

Dhruva. Dhruva meditates on the paramatma who is in his hrudaya kamala was in deep

meditation, could not feel the Gods’s physical presence before him. Bimbha Murthy

(SriVasudeva) disappears during his meditation and Dhruva opens his eyes, he sees Vasudeva in

front of him. Dhruva was unable to speak, then Sri Vasudeva placed his Shanka on the right chin

of Dhruva (Maha lakshmi is the abimana devatha for Shanka). By the grace of Sri Vasudeva and

Maha Lakshmi, Dhruva could speak and praises god

pranan namo bhagavate purusaya tubhyam || (Bhagavath 4th Skandha)

Sri Vasudeva gave boons to Dhruva, to be the Raja of Bhoo Mandala for 36,000 years (his heir is

Pruthu Chakravarthi in his name, Bhoomi is also called Pruthvi) and further Adhipatya of the

Dhruva Mandala till the end of this Kalpa, and then Mooksha. While being in Bhoo Looka,

Dhruva Raja married Simsumara Murthy Paramatma’s daughter “Brami ” and “Ela”, the

daughter of Vayu Devaru.

“Simsumara” (Simsumara Roopi Paramathma is in the form of Scorpion) is one of the

paramatma roopa. The mouth of the scorpion is above the Meru Parvatha which is in the Bhoo

Mandala. The tail portion has gone beyond Swargha Looka and Jano Looka. The Grahagalu,

Saptharishi Mandala, Nakshatras, Surya, Chandra all are in the Paramathma’s Scorpion body

(Tejo Mandala). Dhruva Looka or Dhruva Mandala is at the tail end of the Simsumara. Dhruva

Raja sitting in his Dhruva Looka controls, Grahagalu, Surya, Chandra, Kala chakra, Nakshathra,

etc.

Ganga which descended from the Deva Looka came first to Dhruva Mandala, after Dhruva ,

Rajara snana, came to the Bhoo Looka. So, with this we can now realize the importance and

significance of Sri Vadudeva Manthra (“Om Namo Bhagavathe Vadudevaya”).

The below picture shows the position of “Dhruva Mandala”. This has been visualized and

conceptualized by Sri Sri Vignananidhigalu, Senior Peethadipathi, Sri Sripadaraja Math. Painted

with the help of Artist.

Sri Dhruva Raja for the sajjanara uddara, came in one amsha and took the birth at the tiny

village of Abbur, near Channapatna, during the beginning of 14th century. The child was named

as Lakshminarayana by their parents. Abbur is very sacred place by the presence of Sri

Purushottama Theertharu and Sri Brahmanya Theertharu (Madhwacharya samsthana. Sri

Rajendra Theerthara Poorvadi math). Lakshminarayana and Sri Bhrammanya Theertha are

cousins (mother side) in their poorvashrama. Lakshminarayana did the initial studies at the

Abbur. Sri Swarnawarna Parasurama Theertharu who came in the Sri Madhwacharya

samsthana, Sri Padamanabha Theertha parampara, recognized the significance of

Lakshminarayana and took him to Sri Rangam, arranged for upanayana, further studies and

made the peethadipathi of Madhwacharya Maha samsthana and named him as Sri Sri

Lakshminarayana Muni.

The greatest contribution of Sri Lakshminarayana Muni is “Dasa sahitya” and his pen name is

“Rangavittala”. He is considered as Dasa sahitya adya pravarthakaru. His one more significant

contribution is moulding Sri Vyasarajaru and presenting to the world significance Dviata

philosophy. The Guru-Shishya relation between Sri Lakshminarayana muni and Sri Vyasaraja

cannot be described by any words. Sri Vyasaraja did 12 years of Study under his gurugalu at

Mulbagal. Sri Lakshminarayana Muni who later popularly known as Sri Sripadarajaru. Still in

Mulbagal, we can see the Sri Vyasa Guha, where Sri Sripadarajaru did pata to Sri Vyasarajaru.

Sri Sripadarajaru praises his priya shisya Sri Vyasarajaru by a devaranama. “Sasira jigvagalulla

Sheshane kondada beku Vyasa muni raya”, meaning only the 1000 tongue shesha can praise

the glory of his priya shisya Sri Vyasaraja. Sri Vyasarajaru praises his vidya gurugalu stating that

“Gnana, vairagya, bhakthyathi kalyana gunashalinaha, Lakshminarayana munim vade Vidya

gurum mama”, meaning Sri Lakshminarayana muni is filled with 3 great qualities Gnana,

Bhakthi and Vairagya.

Sri Sripadaraja spent most of his days at Mulbagal. Main objective was establishing big gurukula

at Mulbagal, to spread Dvaita vedantha (philosophy) and Dasa Sahithya. Sri Vyasarajaru and Sri

Hayagreeva Theertharu (who later ascended the Sri Sripadaraja peetha) were the first students

of his university.

Sri Vyasarajaru in Sri Vyasa guha, Sri Narasimha theertha. (a serpent can be seen in the neck of

Sri Vyasarajaru. Sri Padmanabha theertharu came in his moola roopa to bless Sri Vyasarajaru.

Sri Sripadarajaru spoke in sarpa bhashe with the snake (Sri Padmanabha theertharu).

One day Sri Vyasaraja had the rare privilege of doing pooja to Sri Gopinatha devaru (pattada

devaru of Sri Sripadaraja math / Sri Padmanabha Theertha Math). There was one samputa

which was not opened since the time it was brought from the Pandarapura by Sri Sripadarajaru.

Sri Vyasarajaru opened the lid of that samputa. Lord Gopalakrishna devaru who was in the

samputa started dancing to the tune of Sri Vyasarajaru and finally stood in the posture, which is

against the natya shastra. Below is the picture of the Gopala Krishna putting left leg before the

right leg.

As per the request of King Saluva Narasimha bhoopala requested Sri Sripadarajaru for the nitya

pooja of Sri Srinivas at Tirumla. Then Sri Sripadarajaru ordered his vidya shishya, Sri Vyasarajaru

to perform Sri Srinivasa pooja for 12 years. Vyasarajaru did the grantha rachane, Chandrika,

Nyayamrutha & Tarka Thandava taking model from Gurugala Vagvajra grantha, which are

magnificent literatures of Dvaita Philosophy.

King Saluva Narasimha bhoopala performed Ratna abhisheka to Sri Sripadarajaru.

Mulbagal is purified by the presence of Sri Yoga Narasimha swamy (with Yoga pattika). Before

Sri Sripadarajaru settled at Mulbagal, Yoga Narasima swamy has already come. During the

period of Sri Akshobya Theertharu, a great debate between Sri vidyaranyaru (representing

Advitha) and Sri Akshobya theertharu (representing the Dwaita) happened in the near by hill of

present Narasimha theertha, Mulbagal. Before proceeding to debate, Sri Adkshobya theertharu

drew the picture of Sri Narasimha swamy on a small rock and prayed for the victory in the

debate. After returning from the hill after the debate, the drawn figure of Narasimha turned

out to be a sculptured form. Later Sri Sripadarajaru selected this place realizing the vibrations of

this place. Narasimha is facing east. Sri Sripadaraja brindavana is facing west. Since Sri

Sripadaraja is the controller of kala chakra, Surya, Chandra, Nava grahas, starts the suryodaya

by placing surya kirana on the lotus feet of Narasimha and in the evening, again submits all the

punya karyaga acquired during the day to the Sri Hari’s feet.

Sri Sripadarajaru did prathistapana of Sri Lakshmi Narayana devaru at 5 places, Mulbagal is one

amongst. (on the very spot where Sri Krishna danced to the tune of Sri Vyasarajaru, when the

unopened samputa opened by the touch of Sri Vyasarajaru).

Sri Vyasarajaru started his prana devara prathistapana from Mulbagal (1st being at Mulbagal

town math and 2nd at Sri Narasimha theertha).

In the beginning of 15th century, Sri Sripadarajaru did the sajeeva brindavana pravesha at

Mulbagal. From centuries Sri Rajaru is responding to the prayers of Sajjana’s sitting in the

brindavan. Every year during the Jyesta masa, aradhana is being celebrated with most devotion

by the Swamiji’s of Sripadaraja math parampara.

Sripadaraja’s popular works are Vagvajra, Madhwa Nama, Bramara geeta, Ugabhogas,

numerous devara namas.

Sri Sri Vignananidhigalu (Senior Swamiji), who spread the awareness of DasaSahithya for the

past two decades, contributed significantly the awareness of Chakrabja Mandala for the siddha

sandana and adhistan of Simsumara roopi paramatma; also with an immense vision to bring out

“Vedic science, a reality” to the world. Sri Sri Keshavanidhigalu, celebrating Sri Rajara Nandana
