About the SPS Strategic Webinar seriesIn 2013, SPS started a new service exclusively reserved to its members, providing

insight and practical recommendations to help them be more effective in their role as

strategic managers. The recording of the first two SPS webinar, on Open Innovation and

Brand Strategy, are available on the SPS website: http://www.sps.org.uk/sps-learning/.

Future topics will be chosen for their broad application and appeal to the membership of

SPS. Future sessions are planned to address strategy and organization design, strategic

decision-making, and strategy implementation in emerging markets.

Making Globalisation a successful strategic tool With the “globalisation” of the world economy and the constant advance in connectivity &

communication, many organisations feel they have no choice but to develop and deploy

a “global strategy”. But what does that mean? “Going global” brings a set of non-trivial

challenges, from culture to organisation development, and from product portfolio to

financing. For some companies, it may be too soon or too hard. In fact, many successful

firms are not taking a global approach (in the sense of treating the world as if it is all the

same) and doubt is emerging about the degree of global integration that actually exists.

Our speakers will share their experience of global firms and how they have taken a very

customised and considered approach to playing on the world stage.

We look forward to welcoming you to this webinar on 13 March 2013 at 16.00 GMT.

between board work, teaching consultancy public

speaking and, his first love, writing. He sits on the

innovation committee of Allen & Overy and is a trustee of

the Ramblers. He has authored nine books and many

articles; over a million published words. Over the years

his advisory clients have included: Deloitte, Russell

Reynolds, Philips, Ericsson, Ingersoll Rand, Cable &

Wireless and the BBC.

Vincent Rousselet, MBA DipM, FStratPSVincent is an experienced marketer and strategist. He has worked for and advised a

number of blue-chip organisations in media, high tech and financial services in Europe,

America and Asia. After a stint at PA Consulting, Vincent worked for BT for five years,

where he launched one of the operator’s most

successful B2B telephony packages, whilst

growing the return on marketing investment.

He then joined Fujitsu where he was in charge

of the development and deployment of the

corporate strategy outside Japan.

He left Fujitsu in the summer of 2012 to set up

his consultancy and advises global

organisations on strategy, positioning,

proposition development and marketing. Vincent is author of a number of published

case studies, articles and reports on international strategy and customer value, and is a
