SPS Marching Wolves “Conditioning Camp” information

July 21-23, 9am-noon

• Tuesday: Percussion only • Wednesday-Thursday: Full group

We will have three days of camp, 9am-noon each day. Tuesday will be percussion only. Wednesday and Thursday will be the full group. Unfortunately, the boys will not be allowed to play their instruments so please leave them home for now.

To have a successful and fun experience for the kids, please see below for some important considerations and guidelines:

• It is important that the permission form and Covid-19 waiver are completed and turned in when the student arrives for camp. Both are available on our website (stpaulsmarchingwolves.com) or on the St. Paul’s school website under the Student Life tab>Band>Band forms. If easier, prior to camp feel free to complete and email them to the Booster Club Treasurer, Kim Pausina, at [email protected]. If you’ve already sent in your forms, you’re all good!

o Students will not be allowed to participate without those two forms. Physicals are not required for camp but will be required to be on file by October.

• All students’ temperatures will be checked and logged at arrival each day. • Students are required to bring their own masks. • Please send your child with a water bottle. We will have water available to

refill the bottles. • Hand sanitizer will be available (and used frequently!). • As our ability to help the kids is limited this year, please apply sunscreen

prior to camp and send with your child for further application as needed. All suggestions listed in the Band Camp information forms on the websites is applicable: hats, shorts, etc…

• Camp will be held on the regular band practice field adjacent to the baseball field on Adams Ave.

• Students will be separated into groups of no larger than 25 per Phase 2 guidelines. Initially the groups will be percussion, woodwinds, high brass (includes mellophones), low brass, and Golden Blues. These groups will be “pods” and remain separated on and off the field.

• Arrival and pick-up: (please be patient as these rules may be slightly

amended prior to start of camp) o For students driving to campus themselves, the normal student

parking area across from the band room is available. Please do not gather in the parking area prior to the start of camp each day…and wear your masks! Report directly to your assigned area designated by your section below. Make sure you bring your paperwork on the first day.

o For students being dropped off: (Important! Parents, please do not leave until the temperature check of your child has been completed and you’re given the all-clear)

§ Percussion & New Members: drop-off and pick-up will be in the “band” parking lot behind LaSalle hall on 11th Ave.

§ Woodwinds: drop-off and pick-up will be the gravel lot on 11th Ave. behind the maintenance barn between the Band Room and the cafeteria.

§ Low brass: drop-off and pick-up will be the gravel parking area along the baseball outfield on 11th Ave.

§ High brass: drop-off and pick-up will be at the front of the cafeteria by the pond on 11th Ave.

§ Golden Blues: drop-off and pick-up will be the old tennis court parking lot across from the Briggs.

o Please be patient and careful at drop-off and pick-up as traffic will be flowing slowly and a bit differently than usual!

It goes without saying (even though we’ve said it multiple times!), we are truly grateful for your patience throughout this process. You’ve heard us say often, and it has been on bright display throughout this pandemic and this summer, the Marching Wolves have the best parents of any organization on campus!

Thank you!!
