The School for Professional Studies (SPS) is recognized for unprecedented customer
service and quality advising. SPS students receive a Walsh University degree in an accelerated
time frame. Walsh degrees uphold the academic integrity that employers look for.
MEETING THE NEEDS OF ADULT STUDENTS: The School for Professional Studies is designed for adults who want to open additional doors to career achievement and advancement. Our programs enable busy working adults to complete their degree within the framework of ongoing job and family commitments. SPS classes encourage students to become involved in, and actively contribute to, the learning experience. The School for Professional Studies creates a degree completion program that’s right for you.

FLEXIBLE DEGREE COMPLETION PLANS • Studentsmaymoveinandoutofsessionsandterms as needed due to outside demands • Advisorsworkwithstudentstodeterminethebest options for degree completion
ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: • Beatleast23yearsofage • Transferinaminimumof30semesterhoursofcredit from a regionally accredited institution(s). If less than 30semesterhoursofacceptablecredithavebeenearned, students should meet with a School for Professional Studies advisor to discuss options • TalktoanAdmissionsRepresentativeifyouhave lessthan30transferablehours • Documentatleastthreefullyearsofworkexperience (including experience as a homemaker)
COURSE CREDIT OPTIONS • Adultlearnersmayearncreditthroughtransfer,testout options or portfolio • Advisorsworkwitheachstudenttodevelopalifelearning portfolio and determine the amount of credit a student may receive for experiential learning
TRANSFER CREDITS: • Allcoursesmustbefromaregionallyaccreditedinstitution withagradeof“C”orbettertobeconsideredeligible for transfer • Unofficialevaluationscanbecompletedforindividuals providing supporting documentation
FINANCIAL AID • SchoolforProfessionalStudiesstudentswhoregisterfor at least six (6) semester hours per semester are eligible toapplyforfederalandstatefinancialassistance.This assistance includes grant programs as well as deferred student loans. What is Corporate Communication?Corporate Communication involves the daily communication activities of a business in today’s crowded marketplace.
The traditional areas of business advertising, public relations and marketing are blending with technological realms like social media, Internet video and blogs. As the mass media grows and changes, businesses and other organizations recognize these challenges and need professionals who are skilled in communicating in this new environment.
Our Corporate Communication programs are well suited for these opportunities and are prepared to grasp the evolving communication methods of the twenty-first century.

What makes Walsh’s Corporate Communication major unique? •Blendedcurriculum. Our Corporate Communication major is a unique program that mixes theory and practical skills that are found in our Business and Communication major’s coursework.
•Emphasisonethics. As part of our Catholic mission, we stress ethics and responsibility within the coursework and the practices of this major.
Generally speaking, what courses will I need to take to graduate with a Corporate Communication degree?The major is composed of a mix of both business and communication courses, with roughly half of the credits in each area. Lower-level courses focus on concepts and skills; the upper-level courses encourage students to apply knowledge to real-world situations.
