Hello Everyone, We waved goodbye for now to our Year 6 students
this morning as they ventured off to their camp at Yarramundi. We
wish them well and hope they have a wonderful time. They are due
back on Wednesday afternoon. A big thank you to our staff members
for providing this opportunity for our students. It is a big
commitment, they are on duty 24 hours a day and these events would
not happen without their dedication and selflessness as educators.
Thank You! Our Simultaneous Reading Day is almost here! This
Wednesday is the big day! The most recent update is printed in this
newsletter. We look forward to a creative, fun day. After a very
quiet year last year, in terms of school events, we are slowly
getting back into the rhythm! One of our biggest fundraisers is
usually the Walkathon, which will be held on Friday the 28th of
May. The information and sponsorship form will also be sent out
today by Skoolbag as well and a printed version tomorrow. This year
we are looking at raising funds to update our mobile laptop carts.
We will need about $15,000 to fully kit out two more of these
laptop carts which are used in the classrooms. We hope to get close
to this target and also remind you that we are always happy to
receive any other donations. Thank you in advance.
Please remember to continue to scan the QR Code at each of the
entrances to the school if entering school grounds. It takes less
than 30 seconds and is mandatory upon entering
school grounds. Thank you.
In next week’s Newsletter, we will be discussing the issue of hats.
A number of senior students have decided to modify their hats to
look like caps, but caps are not allowed due to sun safety for
their ears and necks. More information and pictures about our new
rules coming soon! We thank you for your support in advance.
Take care please. Remind your kids everyday how special they are
and how much you love them! Hug the ones you love and hold on for
an extra second or two, it makes a world of difference. Mr
Mehmet

Communication There are many forms of communication at Springwood
Public School to inform our community. The main form and most
direct is the SKOOLBAG App. Information attached.
The school website is the next place to look for information, which
can be found at – www.springwoodpublicschool.com
You are also able to email the school at –
[email protected] The good old fashion phone
number is – 4751 1333 We also have a Twitter account where we
announce events with photos - @SPS_placetobe
Some of the class teachers run a DOJO account for direct messages
to parents. You will be notified by the classroom teacher if this
is the case for your child. Most importantly for communication,
please ensure that your contact details are always kept up to date
by notifying the office as soon as possible. This goes for address,
phone numbers, emergency contact details, most recent court orders,
most up to date medical needs of your children and any changes to
pick up details or if you are running late, etc.
A Space Odyssey National Simultaneous Reading Day Wednesday 19th

The Library and our Book Fair is set up ready for our Space
Odyssey.
The children are excited and talking about their costumes,

Guests please remember to wait outside the school gates until the
bell rings and on entry scan

On occasion students are absent from school for a number of
reasons, mainly for ill health. It is mandatory departmental policy
that the school is notified as soon as possible, preferably on the
day, if a student will be
absent for a school day. Please contact the school office as soon
as possible if your child will be absent on 4751 1333. You can also
use the
Skoolbag App to notify the school of an absence or even by emailing
the office on
[email protected]
Thank you for following up on this reminder.
