This important international agency was formed after World War II to encourage peace and cooperation amongst the world’s nations. After your tour, reflect and unwind at the beautiful Jardins Botanique. Use the remainder of the day to visit a museum or other attraction of your choosing. Dinner is on your own. Return to your hotel for the evening. Explore the International Museum of the Reformation and the rise of a new religious faith. Gastronomical Tour of MorteauToday is dedicated to delighting the taste buds. Begin with a tour of Tuye Papy du Gaby, where they make the famous smoked sausages. Then visit a nearby cheese factory to learn how they make this tasty treat. End today on a sweet note with a visit to Klaus Chocolaterie, one of the oldest businesses in Morteau. Enjoy the wonderful foods of Morteau – perhaps even take home some food in your suitcase to enjoy back in America!

BesaconDiscover one of France’s hidden treasures, which boasts a historic city center, Roman ruins and a Renaissance palace. The 17th Century citadel known as Vauban, stands tall above the town which was given the designation of a World Heritage site by UNESCO. Enjoy a tour of a castle, walk through medieval ruins and spend time shopping in the historic town.

NeuchatelCross over the border to visit this historic town in Switzerland. You’ll visit the Latenium, the largest archaeological museum in Switzerland containing over 50,000 years of regional history, many dating back to the La-Tene Epoch. Afterwards take in the scenery and spend the rest of the day as you wish before heading back to Morteau to rejoin your host families.

Colmar, FranceExplore a town in the Alsace region of France.  Discover the area known as Little Venice with its  charming maze of small canals which you can visit in a flat-bottomed boat.  Also visit the birthplace of Frédéric-Auguste Bartholdi: the father of the Statue of Liberty in New York. His birth house, turned into a museum contains many works of this gifted sculptor.
