Placement Process ✓Coordinators provide placement requests ✓You can request a REGION, not a specific school ✓Office of Field Experiences (OFE) contacts school
administration to request placements ✓After a placement is confirmed you will receive an
email with placement information ✓You make contact with cooperating teacher and
set up a meeting prior to the start of the semester **PASSING PRAXIS II SCORES/OPI/WPT/WIFOR ARE
REQUIRED FOR PLACEMENT**

IMPORTANT It is the responsibility of the OFE to make contact
with schools/administration. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO SET UP YOUR OWN
PLACEMENT! Do not contact schools/teachers/administration until you receive a confirmation of the placement
from Jodi Roehl ***Although you may have a regional preference there is NO guarantee***
CBC
• Students are responsible to conduct their own background check using provided instructions.
• For field study, run check ASAP • For student teaching, run check after

Things to do before you begin: – Contact your Cooperating Teacher (CT) by phone, then
email – Contact the Principal to introduce yourself by phone,
then email – Set up a time to meet prior to the semester – Inquire about observing prior to the start of the
semester – Identify preferred ways to communicate with CT – Start talking about timelines and responsibilities
Student Teaching Things to do during the experience: • Treat it as a job interview! • Volunteer for extra activities/clubs/events • Ask to observe other classes • Become acquainted with administration • Be in constant communication with your University Supervisor • Have a set time to meet weekly with your cooperating teacher • Report ALL absences to your Cooperating Teacher and University

Student Teaching Meeting
August 19, 2016 (tentative)
• Teacher candidates are required to attend this meeting with their supervisor
• Interns will meet with Intern Coordinator • Licensing will be discussed • Additional edTPA information
Path to Licensure
• Wisconsin Foundation of Reading Test (WI-FOR) – Passing score = 240 or above
• Specific Program Completion • PRAXIS II / WPT / OPI • 2.75 Combined cumulative GPA prior to student
teaching • Passing edTPA score (will be released July 2016)
edTPA
• All teacher candidates will complete edTPA and submit for national scoring
• A course fee of $300 will be added to fall student tuition bills to cover the cost
• Teacher candidates will be given a voucher code to enter when submitting the edTPA to Pearson - like a coupon
