Dur- ing the 2 1/2 hour workshop, Dr. Thielen-Gaffey rehearsed two songs from the Cantus folder. She shared stylistic detail, historical aspects of the music, and worked on musical nuance. Having access to out- side clinicians is one of the many benefits of participating in CDCC and we are excited to be able to offer this to our students. Auditions Auditions for 2011-2012 season will be held: Bismarck Choirs Open to students presently in grades 2-11 Wednesday, May 4 5-8 pm Thursday, May 5 5-8 pm High Prairie Arts & Science Complex Dickinson Choir Open to students presently in grades 3-5 Thursday, May 17 5-8 pm Dickinson State University May Hall, Choir Room Audition brochures and registration information can be found at www.aboutcdcc.org. Advance regis- tration is recom- mended for audi- tions. Walk-ins are welcome. Howev- er, a lengthy wait is a possibility. It might not feel like spring outside, but join us inside the Belle Mehus on May 14 and 15 and you’ll know that spring has indeed arrived!! Musical treats will abound with performances by each of CDCC’s choirs. As a special treat, CDCC alumni will be back to perform as well. The evening will culminate with Paul Caldwell and Sean Ivory’s Hope for Resolution performed by CDCC’s com- bined choirs and the Alumni Choir. It will be a night to remember, a chance to shake off the cold and rejoice in the songs of spring. This concert series is sponsored by Starion Financial. Tickets are available online, at the choir office, and at the door each day.
