Join us on a exciting journey as we discover the art of painting! Students will learn how to properly mix paints and develop an accurate color wheel. We will learn a variety of brush strokes, incorporating several brush types. Working in a sketchbook, students will develop skill building exercises weekly.
We will explore a variety of painting techniques as we work in watercolor, tempera, and acrylic paints. A variety of concepts and design principles will be explored as we create several works of art in the exciting class.
As always, dress for mess!

Discover drawing as we take students on a journey into cartooning, illustration, and hand lettering. We will learn about artists such as Charles Demuth, Leonardo da Vinci, Roy Lichtenstein, and Keith Harring. Students will create caricatures, cartoon strips, and illustrate typography.
They will learn techniques in drawing like proportions of the body, portraiture, and more! Students will receive a sketchbook with the course, too. We will create some visual arts projects utilizing our newly found skills as well as practice exercises throughout the course.
