Life Bible Study is dedicated to Gather the unchurched and those who haven’t discovered Christ while we Grow believers through life changing Bible study. The goal is to become Great Commission Christians, reflecting His love through Giving ministry to others.
Milestones is a framework for adult discipleship that extends beyond Life Bible Studies to equip people in a particular stage of life, crisis, or in general discipleship. This is accomplished through semester-long courses, one-time classes, and special events.
The purpose of the Grow Strategy is to help people deepen their walk with Christ, be transformed to His likeness, surrender further to His Lordship, thirst for His Word, and love Him more deeply. The primary tools of the Grow Strategy are Life Bible Study and Milestones.
LIFE BIBLE STUDY
GROW STRATEGY
GROW
Welcome to the spring MidLink/Milestones semester!
Although the feel of spring may not yet have arrived, we hope this semester will bring a fresh, new area of growth to your life. Whether you’ve walked with God for most of your life or come to Christ recently, He has so much to show and teach you. We have classes and activities every Wednesday night for every age and stage. For our NextGen area (18 and under), we have a tremendous line-up from Mission Friends to High 5 Kids’ Choir to Breakout, Friction, Wired, and AMP. We also have many unique classes and activities for adults! Most of all, we hope that in the midst of discipleship you will find community as you build new relationships beginning with Midlink Café each Wednesday night.
So check out a class, come enjoy a meal, get to know someone new and look forward to the joy of spring as you connect to a Relevant Biblical Community at Houston’s First Baptist Church.
Enjoy the semester!

For parents, it is vitally important that you have the resources, training, and skills to properly disciple your kids at home. To help you receive the preparation needed, we have Parent Path. Life Bible Study is the foundational ministry for Houston’s First’s Grow Strategy!
Life Bible Study remains a relevant tool for discipleship in the 21st century. As a part of the Grow Strategy, Life Bible Study is a vital and necessary tool for developing disciples and growing believers. Life Bible Study is where discipleship begins, and for many, it is where a lifelong foundation of discipleship is nourished.
This foundational tool offers regular and systematic studies of the Bible. Regular attendees gain an understanding of God’s love and purpose for His followers while developing relationships with others in the church. Life Bible Study is the only organization of the local church where everybody in the church is a member. Others can join in the fellowship and study together even before becoming members of the church.
Life Bible Study draws its mission from the same Scripture passage as the church finds its mission:All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always to the end of the age.”Matthew 28:18–20
There are four take-aways to keep in mind from the purpose statement on page 2:1 Life Bible Study is the church organized2 Life Bible Study is about gathering people and making disciples3 Life Bible Study is about growing believers 4 Life Bible Study is about giving ministry to others
If you are not involved in a Life Bible Study, we strongly encourage you to get involved and grow in knowledge and fellowship. Each Life Bible Study is designed to help you grow in your spiritual walk with Jesus Christ.
For more information, contact the minister for your age group or our Minister of Education, Ben Pritchett, for assistance in finding a Life Bible Study. You may also pick up a Life Bible Study Guide in any lobby, at a Welcome Center, or explore the options on our website at HoustonsFirst.org.
