Altamaha Federal Credit Union hosted the 58th Annual membership meeting on January, 23, 2014 at Unity Church of God Gymnasium. The meeting was open to members and invited guests. A delicious meal was served, prizes were awarded and election of (3) members to the Board of Directors. “Our Annual Meeting is always one of the highlights of our year,” noted Nancy Stanley, CEO. “The meeting provides an opportunity for Members to elect volunteers to serve on our Board of Directors, to hear the highlights from the previous year and to take a look ahead at our plans for the coming year. Members have a chance to mix and mingle among themselves and enjoy a great meal, while the credit union has the opportunity to express our appreciation to Members for their business.” Special recognition was given to Levada Dancer, Member Service Manager, as the employee with the longest tenure at the credit union. Mrs. Dancer was presented flowers and a gift card. John Swingle provided the report of the Nominating Committee and gave a brief overview of the current election procedures. Mr. Swingle introduced the nominees for the open positions on the Board of Directors, nominees being Morris Phillips, Mary Stanfield and Steve Jones. Mr. Swingle advised that since no other nominations were made by petition, the membership was asked to accept the nominees by acclimation. The membership accepted. Altamaha Federal Credit Union Members Can Save with Sprint

Inactive Account FeesIt’s expensive to maintain inactive accounts, and here at AFCU, saving you money is our first priority.

To minimize costs, inactive account fees are assessed when these conditions are present.

Members who:• Don’t have a loan• Account has had no activity for 1 year.

AFCU deposits of interest do not fit the requirements for account activity. An inactive fee of $5.00 per month will be assessed each month for a total of $60.00 per year. At that time the account becomes dormant and may be escheated to the State of Georgia.

Avoid these fees by making at least one transaction a year for each account.

Excessive Withdrawal FeeIn consumer banking “Regulation D” places a limit of six withdrawals or outgoing transfers per month from savings or money market accounts. A chart on our website, altamaha.org shows unlimited withdrawals, unlimited transfers and what constitutes the permitted transactions. As of May 1, 2014, a $5.00 fee will be charged after (6) permitted transactions have taken place. The number of deposits or incoming transfers into savings or money market accounts is not limited. See our website for restrictions necessary on transfers or withdrawals from Credit Union Savings Accounts.
