    • Distance protection (DD..6): DD6, DDE6, DDEY6

    • Transformer differential protection (DQ..6): D2Q6, D3Q6

RaNgE Of fuNCtiONS & aPPliCatiON fiElDSFor all relevant types of grids and neutral-point connections, the devices allow selective protection of:

    • Power lines (one- and two-end fed underground and overhead lines)

    • Transformers

    • Motors

    • Busbars

    • Three-phase earthing transformers

Principle of consequent separation of protection and control

The overcurrent-time and the transformer differential protec-tion devices additionally feature motor protection.

The multifunctional SPRECON-E-P D..6-2 devices can be used for various protection and control applications:

    • Comprehensiveprotectionofprimaryequipment

    • Control and monitoring of switching devices and process items

    • Logging of operational measuring values

    • Communication with superior stations and telecontrol

    • Implementation of other station control systems (i.e. voltage regulator)

    • Bay operation/monitoring

fEatuRES• Uniform hardware platform for station computers,

bay computers, protection devices, one-box so-lutions and remote terminal units

    • Consequent separation of protection and control (firmware, data models, pass-words and processes)

    • Detachable HMI control panel with high-resolution LC-display

    • No maintenance

    • Workflow-oriented and continuous parameterisationtools for the whole SPRECON-E-P D..6-series (features protectionconfigurationswithHMIcontrolpanel)

    • Flexible communication possibilities for open communi-cation (IEC 61850 integrated optical switch, IEC 0870-5-103/-104)

The SPRECON-E-P D..4-series consists of digital overcur-rent-time protection devices:

    • SPRECON-E-P DSZ4

    • SPRECON-E-P DSZW4

RaNgE Of fuNCtiONS & aPPliCatiON fiElDSThe devices provide line protection for all different grids. In combination with other protection units, they fully support primaryequipmentprotection(i.e.transformers,motorsandgenerators). The thermal time constant, which can be adjust-ed in 0.1 min-steps, allows application as protection devices of earthing resistors in short-duration earthed systems.

As an option, SPRECON-E-P DSZW4 may be coupled with an integrated release capacitor or tripping transformer. The devices are particularly suitable for application in battery-less power stations, substations with unstable auxiliary voltages orasbackupprotectionofvariousprimaryequipmentunits.

SPRECON-E-P DSZw4 fEatuRES• Individual configuration possibilities guarantee optimal

    applications and cost-effectiveness

    • Release energy by means of an integrated capacitor (20J at < 350 V, up to approx. 380 W) or release capacitor

    • Lowpowerconsumption(≤5VA)

    • Integrated power management system

    • Connection with dual power supply

    • OperationandconfigurationviaaPC(RS232,serial)orvia front keys

    • Two-line LC-display with 16 characters per row for com-munication via plain-text

    • LED display with “drop indicator”

    • Integrated event logging and integrated disturbance data recording

    • Connection to process control according to IEC 60850-5-103 via RS485 interface (optional)

SPRECON-E-P ERER3The earth-fault relay SPRECON-E-P ERER3 serves for selective capturing of earth-faults in isolated or compensated medium- and high voltage grids.

This analog-electronic transient relay signals earth faults together with the respective directions via LED alarms and relay outputs. In comparison with foregoing hardware versions, the current ERER3 relay supports higher accuracy for high-resistance earth faults.

Captured directions can be registered by the digital protec-tion devices SPRECON-E-P DS..6 (overcurrent-time protec-tion) and SPRECON-E-P DD..6 (distance protection).

The event recorder captures the earth-fault direction signals (incl. date and time) for further processing. Signalling is ac-complished via LED, signal relays and station control (sepa-rated from internal wattmetric earth-fault direction capturing).

SPRECON-E-P Ka4The capacitor release unit is used for supplying tripping ener-gy in form of direct voltage for the circuit breaker tripping coil.

It is also suitable for applications, where devices are supplied with direct voltage for a couple of seconds, which is acceptable for protection devices in order to disconnect circuitbreakersorspecificdatasavings.

The KA4 is mainly used for tripping energy supply for circuit breakers in battery-less power stations. Also, it is applied for automatic reclosing. Furthermore, it can supply protection deviceswithauxiliarypowerequipment.

As a special variant with connection to voltage transformers, the load of the transformers is reduced in order to minimise measuring faults of the connected devices.
