On behalf of the Spotswood Cricket Club Committee, I would like to welcome you to Season 2013-14.
To all our returning players, I look forward to again watching (and playing with some of you) through out the year, as we strive for that premiership that we’re all chasing. We have a strong list of players and I look to the continual improvement that hard work brings in each of you and the team success that will follow.I wish to sincerely welcome all new players to the senior ranks as well as those juniors playing under the Spots-wood cap for the first time. I hope each one of you enjoys a long and successful career here with Spotswood Cricket Club
The pre-season is over now and finally we can concentrate on the ‘real stuff ’. I am sure that each of you will give 100% in order to achieve your own personal goals and the goals of the Club.As we commence the 2013/14 season, I again wish all new and returning club members a successful and enjoyable season and I urge all players, officials, coaches and family members to become involved in Spotswood Cricket Club - your Club - not just on the field but also in attending its various social functions and in contributing in appropri-ate ways to its overall running and well-being. In that way, both individual and collective success and enjoyment is assured.'We are a great club and with your help, we will continue to be great club for a long time to come.

Firstly, as the newly appointed coach for season 2013/14 I welcome all involved in the Spotswood C.C family. After a disappointing end to season 2012/13 it was required that we take all things to the next level to ensure such results do not happen again. Our first opportunity to do this was with preseason training and the response from the players was fan-tastic with significant improvements to fitness levels, skill de-velopment and effort on the track.
Numbers have been solid throughout including a number of the juniors joining us at senior training which is extremely exciting for the future of the club.It has been great to see quite a few new players come through our door this year which will no doubt strengthen the depth and talent of the whole club.
We welcome Haydn Ferrier, Jacob Lloyd and Ed Young (our overseas recruit) to the club and also Josh Moore back to Spotty after being overseas for a couple of years, we wish themand all other players new and returning to the club all the best for the coming season.
As daylight savings has started I am expecting a further in-crease in attendance to training and ask that we all make it a priority to get to training to ensure the best preparation is there for us to take into our matches.
With Round 1 on our doorstep we have very strong teams on paper, but as we all know this means nothing until we get out on the park and commit to doing whatever we needto do to get the desired results.
I wish all players the very best for the year and look forward to having a very enjoyable and successful season. DICKO.
