Robert C. Palumbo, M.D. — Keynote Speaker Dr. Palumbo is an accomplished, nationally recognized Sports Medicine physician and surgeon, specializing in sports-related injuries of the knee, shoulder, ankle, elbow, and hip. Dr. Palumbo is a second-opinion physician for the NFL Players’ Association, as well as the Head Team Physician for the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, a AAA affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. Additionally, Dr. Palumbo is President and Founder of OAA’s Sports Medicine Institute, a non-

profit organization that provides medical education to sports medicine professionals. Before joining OAA, Dr. Palumbo practiced for eight years in Orlando, Florida, where he had the unique experience of treating all levels of athletes and performing artists. There he served as orthopaedic consultant for the Cirque de Soleil, The Orlando Ballet, Sea World, as well as team physician for the U.S. Women’s National Soccer team, which he continues today. Dr. Palumbo attended Medical School at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and performed his Residency at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

SPEAKERS continuedCliff EmmonsMr. Emmons is the Founder of Accelerated Healthcare Innovations, LLC and CEO of IIOT-OXYS, Inc. Cliff is a medical device leader and entrepreneur with extensive experience

in creating, building and transforming technology-based organizations in the USA, India and China. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Connecticut and M.S. in Management Engineering from the University of Bridgeport.

Timothy Steele Mr. Steele is the CEO, Founder and Owner of MicroSpec Corporation. Tim is a self-taught Extrusion Engineer with more than 40 years of experience. His extrusion background includes

experience in thermoplastic elastomers and designing extrusion tooling. Considered a thought leader in the medical extrusion industry, he lead the way in the miniaturization of coextruded and multi-luman tubing. He owns one patent and graduated from Lehigh University with a B.A. in History.

David WhiteMr. White has worked in the pharmaceutical industry for the last 6 years developing extrusion based drug eluting implants for prolonged drug release, abuse deterrent applications, and

local drug delivery for indications such as pain, inflammation, epilepsy, Parkinson’s, and HIV. David has a B.S. in plastics engineering from Penn State, a M.S. in plastics engineering from UMass Lowell and will shortly obtain his PhD in plastic engineering from UMass Lowell.

Katie Karmelek Ms. Karmelek is a mechanical engineer with more than 12 years of medical device experience in a wide array of roles including product development, project management,

marketing and business development. Most recently launched Chamfr.com, a new multi-vendor marketplace providing fast access to medical device components with a goal of helping R&D engineers innovate faster. She has a B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University.

Denis FinnMr. Finn is the Project Engineer for Guill Tool and Engineering. He is responsible for new product development and quality control. His primary areas of experience are in mechanical

design, flow analysis, and process engineering. Additionally, he has worked in the wire, pipe, and profile industries producing profiles and multi-layer applications. He earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rhode Island.

Joe BolingerMr. Bolinger has been with Machine Solution as a Sales Exec./ Technical Sales Engineer for more than 7 years. Before joining Machine Solutions, he spent more than 6 years with

Boston Scientific in New Product/ Process Development. In this role, Joe specialized in RF tipping applications and worked directly with all aspects up to validation of multiple processes. He has a B.S. in Business Management from Indiana Wesleyan University.

Keith DonahueMr. Donahue is the Vice President, Sales where he is responsible for balancing both sales and support needs for the company with customer requirements from the various market

segments supported by Zumbach. Keith began his career with Zumbach in 1987 as a Field Service Engineer. He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Union College and an MBA from Villanova University.

Jason CrosbyMr. Crosby is the Medical Business Manager for Plastic Ingenuity. Jason has experience in a wide range of areas including; product development, business development, quality,

operations and package engineering. He has worked closely with a wide range of medical device and pharmaceutical companies. He has more than 20 years of thermoforming industry experience. He has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin.

Bob Bessemer Mr. Bessemer is the Vice Presient of Extrusion Technology for Novatec and has more than 35 years of experience working for several downstream plastics extrusion equipment

manufacturers. His major focus is on developing, sizing, and cutting equipment specific to medical and pharma applications. Bob currently has six patents. He graduated from Penn State University with a B.S. in Business Administration.

David DoddsMr. Dodds is a plastics professional with more than 26 years of experience with a background in Plastic Material Engineering. His work experience includes a variety of technical and

commercial roles at LNP Engineering Plastics, RTP, Clariant and PolyOne, with responsibilities including Technical, Market, Product, Sales and Operational Management. He completed his undergraduate studies at Rowan University and West Chester University.
