Last Thursday evening and Friday our F/1/2 students participated in their camp
program. All of our Junior Students attended the Camp program where they did a variety of activities including: 3 legged race, water balloon activities, had a disco, an excursion to KidsTown and finished off with Music and a DVD.
The Foundation and Grade 1 students went home at 8.00pm and returned at 7.30am. While our 6 Grade 2 students got to have a sleepover in the Library with Miss Baker and Miss H. They were all sound asleep by 10.30pm and 5 of them had to be woken up at 7.00am.
From the students evaluations, the Camp food was delicious with them having the option of building their own hamburger, having a sausage in bread, salad, Miss H’s Magical Dim Sims, and finishing with a Rainbow Paddle Pop for dessert. Brekky was a choice or combination of cereal (Corn Flakes or Rice Bubbles), Toast or Pancakes with or without Maple Syrup and apple juice. Morning tea was corn chips, carrot sticks, cubed cheese and a cup cake. Camp celebrations came to an end with pop corn while they were watching the movie. Wow, what an experience! A big thank you to: - Bonnie Morgan who helped cook the BBQ and serve tea; - Mr McCully for volunteering to drive our bus for our KidsTown excursion; - Miss Baker and Mrs Moulsdale for organising camp activities; - K.C.P.S. Staff for helping with breakfast; and - Our fantastic F/1/2 students for their outstanding behaviour! Our 2019 Camps Program is all completed. Our students have had the opportunity to complete an evaluation about the camp they attended. This gives us powerful feedback for future camps. This Thursday, 14th November, we have our 2nd Orientation Session for our 2020 Foundation Students. This is from 12.30pm to 3.15pm. They require: their lunch, a drink bottle and hat for this session. I know Mrs Moulsdale has some very “bright” things planned for them to do this visit. There is one more Orientation session to go which is the State Wide day on Tuesday 10th December. All Kinder Kids go to their Primary Schools and Grade 6s go to their Secondary School. At K.C.P.S. our students spend the day with their class and teacher for 2020.
Our 2020 Booklists will be sent home on Thursday 14th November and all forms are due back by Tuesday 10th December, even if you do not want to
purchase any items from the booklist. Each year we review the quality, the number of items students’ require, as well as ensuring students have the correct items for each grade level e.g. pencil grip, line sizes, left or right handed scissors etc. We also ensure that our families are getting value for money by checking prices from different suppliers. Payment is NOT required with your order. Booklists will be ready for collection on Tuesday 21st & Wednesday 22nd January from 10.00am – 3.00pm. You need to pay for and collect your booklist orders from the KCPS office. Payment is CASH ONLY for our booklists as we do not have card facilities at school. If you are unable to collect the order on the nominated days, orders can be picked up on Tuesday 28th January when staff return to work.
Parents’ Club have organised a Name Label and Drink Bottle Fundraiser. There were a few families who enquired about labels when they picked up their booklists for 2019, so we thought we would be proactive and organise this fundraiser. Orders will be available for collection with your Booklists in January 2020.
Orders and payment is required by Tuesday 10th December. Strictly cash or direct deposit into the school bank account: BSB ~ 063527 Account ~ 1016 2724.
Keeping with tradition, on Monday our School Captains Hamish and Angus conducted a Remembrance Day Ceremony at
school. They spoke about the history of this special event, played the Last Post, the National Anthem and laid a Wreath which is at the bottom of our flagpole as you walk into our school. Hamish and Angus did a great job and I would like to sincerely thank them both on behalf of Kialla Central. I would also like to acknowledge Therese Nicholson, Blooming Buckets, for our gorgeous Australian Flowers Wreath. We raised $58 for the RSL by selling Poppy merchandise. There has been a report of headlice again this week. I cannot stress enough how important it is for ALL families to be vigilant in checking and treating your child/ren’s hair. It only takes one egg to be missed which hatches and the cycle starts again. We are investigating what other options we have to try and reduce this problem. Your co-operation is vital! Debbie Humphries ~ Proud Principal of KCPS
