We need volunteers to help in the kitchen on Wednesday nights. One night a month you would help set-up, serve and clean-up following the church supper. If you can help please contact Larry Lormand.

ACBC is host-ing a free ac-tivity booth in the children’s area at the

Azle Sting Fling—Saturday, Sept. 8th from 9am until 5pm. We need volunteers to help man the table (a simple game & craft) and to be available to visit with parents as their children play. Sign up for 1 hour or all day! Contact Sarah Teichler or call the church office.

This past Sunday was a great day at church! It always makes me happy when attendance is good, offerings are increased, and new members join. But more than that we had two events Sunday that deserve special recognition. First, the Christian Advocacy Team hosted a great event after church. Over 100 people had a light lunch and then participated in a discus-sion with three community leaders about issues affecting us and our neighbors here in Azle. Police Chief Rick Pippens began the dis-cussion about the topic of domes-tic violence in Azle. This is a very difficult topic to discuss and to hear about, but it is incredibly important. Jamie Westbrook fol-lowed by discussing how domestic violence affects students in our school system. Bob Ellzey then discussed how domestic violence affects health care in Azle. This is a very serious and difficult topic. I want to thank the Advocacy team and these three community leaders for bringing this discussion to the forefront. If you are deal-ing with domestic violence or any kind of abuse in your home, there are people who can help. You do not have to live like that. Sunday night our Sanctuary Choir under the leadership of J.K. Weger led us in “A Night of Worship.” The choir sang several of their favorite anthems and the congre-gation sang together in praise to God. Thank you J.K. and Choir for leading us on a great night together. Now we move into our fall sched-ule. Wednesday nights are back in full swing. After Labor Day there are several new Discipleship classes on both Wednesday nights

and Sunday evenings. Wednes-day night Youth worship called, “The Door”, is reaching new stu-dents. RAs, GAs, and Mission Friends are back to regular sched-ule. There is a lot going on at Ash Creek. Invite friends and neigh-bors. Tell people about Jesus. Great days are ahead. May God Bless You this Week,
