The key to a great fit is proper sizing

(Superfeet should rest on the bottom of the footwear and sit flat in the shoefor a good fit.)

STEP 2: TRACEPlace the shoe’s original insole on top of the Superfeet: line up the back edge of the heel (A) and the inside edge of the insole (B). Trace with a pen (C).

STEP 3: TRIMTrim by cutting along the OUTSIDE of the tracing line. Be careful not to trim too short: trim it, try it… trim it, try it.

Light Bulb Moments

The Heel Shock Test This test shows how the patented shape of Superfeet’s heel cup directs shock. Have the customer stand on their bare feet and rise up onto their toes. Hold for 4 seconds, then quickly let the heels drop to the floor; the shock forces will be felt from the heel bone to the hips. Then do the same exercise with Superfeet under one foot (so they can feel the difference)—the force will be diminished.

The Squeeze TestThis test shows how Superfeet insoles support and surround the heel’s fat pad, providing natural shock absorption and reducing the chance of bruising the heel. Have the customer remove one shoe. While sitting, extend the leg and press firmly on the bottom of the heel so you can feel the heel bone as the fat pad is displaced. Then squeeze the fat pad from the sides with your thumb and index finger. From this position, as you press on the bottom of the heel, the fat pad between the bone and your thumb is thicker and offers more protection.

The Balance TestThis test shows how the body’s balance (while standing) can be improved by wearing Superfeet. Have the customer stand with bare feet and pick up one foot—make sure they look forward and not down while doing this test. Watch how they try to find their center of gravity or balance point. You can watch the foot muscles contract and the toes grip. Now place a Superfeet insole under the grounded foot and have the customer pick up the same foot—balance and proprioception is improved and the muscles are more relaxed.

The Arm Test (Do not do this test if the customer has any shoulder injuries)This is a balance and strength test. Have the customer stand with their arms extended, right hand placed on top of the left hand, feet hip-width apart, and back straight. Stand directly in front of the customer and slowly press down on their arms as they try to resist the downward force. You can see and feel them wobble while trying to resist; they may lean or fall forward because they’re off-balance. Next, have them stand on Superfeet and do the same test. Because the body is more stable, their balance and strength should be greatly improved, and it will be more difficult to press their arms down.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will Superfeet Premium Insoles last with everyday wear?For 80% of consumers, the insoles will last approximately 12 months depending on body weight and foot type (unstable/stable), type of shoe and the environment they are used in (i.e. walking, running, work and sports). Because everyone is different, we cannot indicate how many miles/kilometers it will take to wear a pair out. We recommend replacing Superfeet insoles every 12 months or when you purchase new shoes.

Why letters instead of numbers?By identifying our products with letters rather than numbers, your customers will focus on getting the proper fit, rather than being preoccupied with what they think their size is. The footwear industry does not adhere to universal sizing, so one manufacturer’s size 8 is not necessarily another’s size 8.

Do Superfeet Premium Insoles help heel spurs?Yes, in most, but not all cases. The insoles will help stabilize and reposition the heel bone. At the same time the deep heel cup will hold more of the fat pad under the heel bone for improved cushion, comfort and shock absorption.

Do Superfeet Premium Insoles help Plantar Fasciitis?Yes, in most, but not all cases. The Superfeet insoles will help hold the rear-foot close to a neutral position. The neutral position will allow for better bone and muscle alignment. This will help reduce some of the stress on the plantar fascia ligament on the bottom of the foot.

Do Superfeet Premium Insoles help to reduce foot elongation? The foot lengthens when weighted called elongation. Yes, Superfeet Premium Insoles can help to reduce foot elongation up to 80% on average and up to 90% in some cases.

Why does the arch hit so far back?When you first try on a Superfeet insole you may feel like the arch is too far back. This is not uncommon and it can be a positive feedback from the product. If you feel like the arch is too far back, the product is actually telling you that it’s trying to support your rear foot (heel bone) so the foot resists collapsing. As you go through the break-in period with the product, it may take 10 minutes to 2 weeks for the feeling of the high spot support to dissipate.

If you trim the Superfeet insole too long for the shoe, it will jam the Superfeet in the shoe and give you the feeling that the arch is too far back. You may want to trim the front end of the Superfeet insole so that the product can move in the shoe from front to back, about the thickness of a nickel. This allows the product to move independently of the shoe.
