Buyers Notes: Firearms Act : FIREARMS ACT 1968 (AS AMENDED)
Purchasers must hold a valid licence to purchase the item they are bidding on.
Private buyers resident within the UK who have successfully bid on a Section 1 or
Section 2 item must present their original shotgun/firearm certificate to the auc-
tioneer in advance of making payment. The certificate will be checked and com-
pleted on day of receipt and returned, at which point payment should be made.
Successful bidders not in possession of a valid authority are requested to pay a
deposit of 95% of the invoice total with the remaining 5% payable once the certifi-
cate has been checked and completed.
Section 5 items may only be bid on by current Section 5 licence holders without
exception. A valid Section 5 authority must be produced in order to view prohibit-
ed weapons. Overseas buyers should be aware that items classified as Section 5
prohibited weapons under UK law will incur additional shipping charges regardless
of their classification outside the UK.
Offensive Weapons Act (2019)
Bladed products are not for sale to people under the age of 18. By bidding on an
edged weapon you are declaring that you are 18 years of age or over. Upon col-
lection photo identification will be required if a person appears under 25, to prove
that they are over 18 years old.
Please be aware that we are unable to send edged weapons or bladed products
by postal courier to a UK residential address (Offensive Weapons Act 2019).
Viewing Times: From 12 noon to 2pm - 13th March
Selling Commences: 2pm prompt Buyer’s Premium: 15% plus VAT
Bidding: Please register for a bidding number prior to bidding and clearly state your num-
ber on a winning bid. Purchasers should satisfy themselves by physical inspection
of lots before bidding as to the origin authenticity quality age weight size and
general description – as lots are sold in their actual state with all faults imperfec-
tions or errors of description. If physical inspection is not possible condition reports
must be reviewed by purchasers in full before bids can be accepted. (please refer
to full conditions of sale)
Commission Bids: Commission bids are accepted subject to prospective purchaser having viewed
the items.
Payment: All payments must be paid for on the day of sale, unless special arrangement has
been made with the Auctioneer. Payment by card, cheque or cash. For Money
Laundering purposes, we are not allowed to take more than £7,500 from anyone
without formal identification. (photo identity & bank cards will be required).
Selling Rate: Between 120-150 lots an hour. Please ensure you are in the saleroom at least 20
minutes before you expect a lot to be offered in case we are ahead of schedule.
Live Bidding: This auction has the facility for live internet bidding via www.the-saleroom.com
and will be subject to an additional premium, please refer to their website for
conditions.
No refunds: No refunds will be given after the sale due to the condition of the item
Electrical Items: All electrical and mechanical goods are sold on the strict understanding that
these are untested, without warranty or any guarantee as to serviceability or
working order. Electrical items are PAT tested for safety purposes only, you pur-
chase at your own risk.
Health & Safety Please treat the site as a construction site and use all safety precautions you
would normally adhere to. If children are on site, they must be under strict control
of an adult at all times.
