DAN PETITBON AND JAMES TURNER ARE
BUSY AT ROGER
DEAN STADIUM ***************** James Turner, far right, did a 12 credit hour intern last summer at Roger Dean Stadium. It paid off be-cause he was asked to re-turn to work game opera-tions for Spring Training and the Florida State
League Season this year. Professor Olson caught up with him at a game be-tween the Cardinals and Marlins. Although he had not had a day off since Feb-ruary, he is enjoying having the Big League teams at the facility and is looking for-
ward to the upcoming Flor-ida State League Season. Dan Petitbon’s experience is not as hectic but very im-portant to the St. Louis Car-dinals baseball operations staff. He runs the “trackman” system. He arrives at the ballpark, grabs some lunch at the clubhouse, retrieves his computer and heads to the press box. He enters the line-ups and tracks every single pitch. IN MEMORY OF KEVIN PRECIADO
It is with deep sadness
that I share with you that
a recent graduate of the
H. Wayne Huizenga
School of Business and
Entrepreneurship has
passed away. Kevin Pre-
ciado graduated with a
degree in Business Ad-
ministration and a minor
in Sport and Recreation
Management in 2012. In
addition to being a fine
student, Kevin served as
the Sports Editor for The
Current. Never one to let
muscular dystrophy serve
as an excuse, he worked
every day to achieve all
he could with the many
gifts he was given ...

STUDENTS LEARN ABOUT NSU GAME OPERATIONS
The Guest Speaker Series continued last week in SPT 3150, Facility and Event Management.
The students heard about NSU Game Operations from Andrea Buenano, Coordinator of Ath-
letic Academic Services, and Francisco Amado, Graduate Assistant for Game Operations. An-
drea was the first person to hold the position of Game Operations Assistant. She and Fran-
cisco explained the detailed preparation which is necessary for home games. In addition, they
need to be knowledgeable of both NCAA and Sunshine State Conference Rules which often
impact game set-up. Francisco (gray shirt) and Andrea (beige blouse) are in the front row sur-
rounded by students from the class.
