The laboratory of Soil Mechanics (LMS) of EPFL is glad to announce the Second International Symposium on Energy Geotechnics in 2018 (SEG-2018). SEG is a 4-day event that serves as an international forum for promoting the exchange of ideas and practices among the major experts in the field, aiming at stimulating the debate on the most recent advances in the field of energy geotechnics.

Energy geotechnics is a continually developing, challenging and innovative field, which draws growing international attention from both aca-demia and industry. Recognizing the strong interest in the field, SEG-2018 will feature 6 key-note and 5 feature lectures from the most prominent researchers and practitioners, 19 technical sessions, including 12 mini-symposia, in parallel with more than 200 accepted pres-entations, covering a broad spectrum of the topics in the area. SEG-2018, will be held at EPFL which will represent a great environment for this organization, with its outstanding international research, resources and strategic position in the field of sustainable development. The symposium will also host an “innovation hub” featuring an exposition area and a special interactive session dedicated to supporting and promoting the community of inventors and entrepreneurs, active in the greater field of energy geotechnics.
