ABOUT THE VDC

The aim has been to focus on national and state issues fundamental to excellence in Vocational Education and Training (VET) practice.

The VDC annual conference has become a highly regarded and anticipated event within the VET sector. The Conference will be conducted online on 18 and 19 November 2021.

The VET Development Centre (VDC) was established

in 2005 by the Victorian Government to promote the

development and raise the professional standing of

people working in the Australian Vocational Education

and Training (VET) Sector.

Through our services, the VDC provides continuous

professional learning to teaching and non-teaching

staff in the VET Sector across Australia. This is

achieved through the design and delivery of an

extensive range of webinars, workshops, seminars and

the annual conference, as well as professional learning

activities, to meet the current and future expectations

of learners, industry, and government.

In 2020, the VDC hosted 344 events with over

11,800 attendees at our programs, events and

services. We received 14,500 registrations for all VDC

services in 2020 representing an increase of 74% in

services utilisation over the past five years. We also

achieved an overall satisfaction rating of 94% for our

professional learning programs.
