Why sponsor this event? The La Jolla Rough Water Swim has been asummertime tradition for more than ninety years. It is nationally ranked #1 as America'slargest RWS / OWS event and has received national television (ESPN ) and printcoverage as well as local TV coverage from the San Diego and Los Angelesnetwork affiliates. As one of our sponsors your company will be identified with an historicsporting classic which draws an international contingent of swimmers and benefits juniorathletics. With a self imposed limit on corporate sponsorships your company will receivethe undiluted media exposure and attention it deserves.

How else can sponsorship benefit our company? Quality Exposure!Besides the obvious benefits of generous TV and print media coverage, the averageraceday spectator is 44 years old (66% are 25-49), married with two (1.82) children andan annual household income of eighty-four thousand dollars. Of the approximately tenthousand spectators, forty percent spend the entire day at the Swim. Fourty-five percentspend more than four hours and only fifteen percent spend less than two hours at theCove. Over eighty-two percent of the spectators are exposed to the Official Program anda minimum of four public address sponsor acknowledgments. When compared with otherexposure opportunities, the La Jolla Rough Water Swim can provide your company witha very cost effective vehicle for corporate exposure and recognition.

Can any company be a sponsor? In general, most companies qualify andare encouraged to consider sponsorship. Some exceptions are corporate entities whodistribute or manufacture tobacco related products and companies whose products areconsidered detrimental to a healthy environment or controversial in nature. The La JollaRough Water Swim Board of Directors must approve all Corporate Sponsorships.

Where does the money go? All sponsorship donations (100%) are used tounderwrite Junior Swimming, amateur athletic programs and event expenses for theJunior and Amateur events. The La Jolla Rough Water Swim Foundation is exclusivelyvolunteer and a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
