We aim to be the first ever brother and sister to row an ocean to demonstrate the importance of gender equality

(1) To Educate, individuals, communities and organisations.

(2) Contribute more than £100,000 to support projects run by UN Women UK

(3) Support UN Women UK and gender equality through our everyday actions

and brining attention to the changes.

Through support and contributions we will be able to fund the campaign, row across

the Atlantic Ocean and raise money to support the projects of UN Women UK

Older brother & younger sister. Both raised in the Cotswolds but currently living in London.

Rowing 24/7 in 2 hour shifts for 30,000 nautical miles across the Atlantic Ocean.

Aiming between 40-60 days at sea, facing extreme factors such as stormy weather,

dehydration and sleep deprivation.

Our journey and #sameboat campaign will be covered across many media outlets including;

national TV, Online publication and through spotlight articles in local and national press

To recognise the important and influential impact women have across all aspects of

society including; work, knowledge, health time, money and power

A SISTER

Anna McLean, 23

Confident and optimistic, Anna is sure be the first to accept a challenge and try something new. Anna spontaneously cycled the length of the United Kingdom, 913 miles over 12 days, self supported. Working in the City, Anna manages the partnerships for a Microsoft Dynamics CRM partner. You will find her cycling along embankment to and from work and certainly her high energy ensures that her evenings are always filled with a fun activity.

ANNA CAMERON

Cameron McLean, 31

Strong minded and determined, Cameron is always onto his next adventure and certainly one to turn his visions into a reality. Alongside directing the Operations for a Business Members Club in Mayfair, Cameron swam the English Channel solo in 14 hours, completed his MBA, and is now flying around the Cotswolds to build hours towards his Private Pilot’s License. You can always rely on Cameron for a good laugh and some entertainment with his clever & witty puns.

Jon Ridgeway. It was a 92 day battle against hurricanes, 50ft waves and near starvation.

TechnicalThe Seablings will process sea water through a solar powered

desalination unit to produce drinking water for each day.

The Seablings will adopt a pattern of rowing for 2 hours then sleeping for 2 hours for

the duration of the race.

We need to recognise the important impact women have across all aspects of society. This includes; Work, Knowledge, Health, Time, Money and Power.Now it is time for both men and women to unite, take action and drive this change together.

195 Million fewer women than men are literate

190 Million fewer women than men have access to an account at a formal financial institution

Women spend 3 x more hours on unpaid care work than men do

It will take >100 years to reach gender equality in the C-suite based on current trends

Less than 50% of employees believe their company is doing what it takes to improve gender equality

Established in 2010, UN Women leads the way to accelerate gender equality and women’s empowerment. The organization delivers programs and transforms policy to improve the lives of women and girls in nearly 100 countries around the world. UN Women works among other issues to support women as leaders in all walks of life, increase their economic security and end the pandemic of violence against women that affects at least 1 in 3 women and girls worldwide. The aim is to achieve equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security.

With your help women and girls can live free of violence, and have an equal choice and opportunity to study, earn money and follow their dreams.

$12 Trillion could be added to annual global GDP by 2025 if the gender gap is narrowed

Only with your support and contributions are we fund a boat, technical and life saving equipment, food and other operational costs in order to launch the to the #sameboat campaign.

The boat will be sold after the race and all recouped funds will be donated to UN Women UK.
