Something of a mini-Davos with a view of the Turkish coast, the Rhodes Forum
annually brings together politicians, former leaders, researchers and the heads of
business circles from across the globe.
From the podium and behind the scenes the speakers adamantly called for dialogue,
emphasising the failures of America’s policies and, to a lesser degree, of Europe’s, in
managing the world’s affairs.
La Croix 2017France
The Rhodes Forum opens this week with a strong African presence led by former
Nigerian president, Goodluck Jonathan, headlining a diverse array of high-profile
international speakers to discuss and seek practical solutions to major global
challenges being faced today.
Independent Nigeria 2017Nigeria
Political and Business leaders discussed the connections between terrorism and
education and the challenges posed by migration at the 15th Rhodes Forum
organised by the Dialogue of Civilizations Research Institute (DOC).
The fundamental importance of education as the key to a sustainable future for
humankind was the focus of Leaders’ Club meeting at the 15th Rhodes Forum
which was attended by various heads of state and government, and other high-
profile speakers, to develop concrete approaches to solving key problems that is
being faced by the countries.
ANI NEWS 2017India
From the low white armchairs and blue backdrop on the main stage to the breakout
sessions on pressing issues, Rhodes does a good impression of a mini-Davos.
The 300 thinktankers, businessmen and politicos who gathered at a five-star resort
on the Greek island last weekend for this year’s forum engaged in the hand-
wringing over the many crises - mass migration, Islamist terrorism and rising
inequality - facing the world.
