About GoMedia CanadaProduced by Destination Canada in partnership with a different Canadian host destination each year, GoMedia Canada connects top international and domestic media with Canadian tourism organizations. Through one-to-one meetings, engaging programming, networking events, and pre and post event tours, the program strives to educate and inspire media with story ideas that will capture the hearts and minds of their readers. Since its inception in 2004, the show has become a highly valued platform for tourism partners to share their unique story with the world.

Who Attends GoMedia CanadaGoMedia Canada attracts top media from across the globe. Media delegates include international and domestic media outlets producing content for top-tier print, broadcast, radio and online publications. Internationally, media are invited from the US, UK, Germany, France, Australia, Japan, South Korea, China, Mexico, and India, hand-selected from Destination Canada in-market teams. Media attend because the event provides incredible leads and story ideas for their future work. They appreciate the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of Canada and make the personal connections they need to produce outstanding content for the readers. VenueGoMedia Canada 2020 is taking place at the Victoria Conference Centre and Crystal Garden, located in picturesque Victoria, British Columbia a city celebrating its 150th Anniversary in 2021.

Appointments will take place in the Marketplace located at the Crystal Garden. This glass conservatory was designed to resemble the community palaces in Europe and initially housed a swimming pool, but is today an open space venue abounding with natural light.

Breakfasts and Luncheons will be hosted at the Victoria Conference Centre. Located just across the street from the Marketplace, this venue is connected to the historic Fairmont Empress Hotel.

As the Official Luncheon Host and a Diamond Level Sponsor, your story takes centre stage in front of a captive audience. With full use of the room, you have the opportunity to provide an immersive experience through taste, visuals, sound and entertainment. Transport guests to your region with a story or experience found nowhere else; this is your exclusive opportunity to shine.

The luncheon will take place from 12:00pm to 1:30pm in Carson Hall at the Victoria Convention Centre, a short walk across the street from the GoMedia Canada Marketplace.

The sponsor is responsible for all activation costs including décor elements and enhancements to food, beverage and AV.

Luncheon Host Sponsorship includes:

• Exclusive recognition as Official Luncheon Host in all programming;

• In addition to decorating the room to reflect your destination or brand experience and greeting delegates as they enter, sponsor will have approximately 20 minutes of dedicated programming time during the luncheon to share their stories. Note there will be a Destination Canada emcee delivering housekeeping remarks adjusted to suit the flow of your programing;

• Venue space rental at the Victoria Convention Centre;

• Standard audio-visual package (estimated at minimum valued at over $60,000; package details);

• A credit of $50 per person plus 15% gratuities ($7.50) plus GST ($2.88) for total all-inclusive of $60.38 applied against food & beverage (not including alcohol) and paid directly to the Victoria Convention Centre;

• Sponsor may circulate promotional items (to be approved by GoMedia Canada);

• Sponsor may have VIP non-registered guests present to greet and mingle with delegates as well as attend the luncheon; limit of 5 non-registered VIP guests;

• Sponsor may enhance the room décor, audio, visual, food and beverage at their own cost;

• GoMedia Canada will require a complete show program including giveaways by August 5, 2020 for review and approval;

• Sponsor must adhere to the convention centre policy as it relates to food and beverage. All Victoria Conference Centre (VCC) events and meetings are catered by the Fairmont Empress. The Fairmont Empress will contract all

food and beverage. The Hotel is responsible for the quality and freshness of the food served to its guests. Therefore, no food may be brought into the hotel from another source for consumption in the facilities. The province of British Columbia Liquor Commission regulates all alcoholic beverage sales and service. The Hotel, as licensee, is responsible for the administration of these regulations. Therefore, no liquor, beer or wine may be brought into the Hotel from outside sources. All alcohol served in Function rooms must be purchased through the hotel liquor license.

Additional Benefits include:

• Recognition as Diamond Level Sponsor in all programming;

• A GoMedia Canada credit of $2,325 plus applicable taxes to be applied to GoMedia Canada 2020 Registrations. The GoMedia Canada credit must be used for GoMedia Canada 2020 and is non-transferable. Note – there are a limited number of storytelling zones.

Storytelling / Activation Zone Sponsorship includes:

• Exclusive recognition as Platinum Level Sponsor in all programming;

• A GoMedia Canada Marketplace footprint of 10’ x 8’;

• GoMedia Canada requires a complete outline of the proposed use of the space and any giveaways by August 5, 2020 for review and approval;

• Sponsor may have non-registered team members in the storytelling corner to assist in delivering the story; limit of 2 non-registered team members;

Located in the GoMedia Canada Marketplace at the Crystal Garden, this opportunity gives you four half-hour scheduled sessions to immerse delegates into a unique experience about your destination. Perhaps it is a delicious High Tea or a wellness break complete with massage chairs. Built into each delegates’ schedule, they won’t miss the opportunity to hear and feel your story.

Themed Refreshment Break Sponsorship includes:

• Exclusive designated half-hour session in each delegates appointment schedule;

• Venue space rental at the Crystal Garden;

• Sponsor may circulate promotional items (to be approved by GoMedia Canada);

• Sponsor may have VIP non-registered guests present to greet and mingle with delegates during the Themed Refreshment Break; limit of 2 non-registered VIP guests;

• A credit of $20 per person plus 15% ($3) gratuities and 5% GST ($1.15) for all-inclusive total of $24.15 to be applied against the hydration component (not including alcohol) of the Themed Refreshment Break and paid directly to the Victoria Convention Centre. Note: this credit is applied against, coffee, tea, juice and soft drinks only. Sponsor assumes all other food and beverage costs above the credited amount, as well as activation fee (including room décor, audio and visual components and service personnel) related to hosting the Themed Refreshment Break;

After a big day on the GoMedia Canada Marketplace floor, delegates will enjoy a light refreshment and the opportunity for a casual mix and mingle at your End of Day Wine-Down. This is a great opportunity to share the story of your destination through taste, music, interpretation and displays.

The End of Day Wine-Down takes place from 3:45pm to 4:45pm in the Upper Pavilion at the Victoria Convention Centre.

End of Day Wine-Down Sponsorship includes:

• Venue space rental at the Victoria Convention Centre;

• Customized audio-visual package (package details and value TBC);

• Sponsor may circulate promotional items (to be approved by GoMedia Canada);

• Sponsor may have VIP non-registered guests present to greet and mingle with delegates during the Wine-Down; limit of 2 non-registered VIP guests;

• Sponsor assumes all food and beverage costs related to hosting the End of Day Wine Down. All beverage must be Canadian. A GoMedia Canada delegate gift is an opportunity to present both media and industry attendees with a unique item from your destination, region or property. Perhaps the item tells a story from your region such as sweet honey from a local shop, or perhaps it’s simply a useful item for the event such as a reusable water bottle, umbrella or branded stapler.

Each gift will be distributed at registration in the delegate bag. If a delegate bag is not available, the gift will be handed out at the registration desk. Approximately 325 items required.
