TheUniversityofRochester’sOfficeofResidentialLifewillmaintainaSummerHousingwebsitethatwillcontaininformationfortheuseofprogramadministratorsandparticipants.Alinktothesitecanbefoundathttp://www.rochester.edu/reslife/summer/.DeadlinesDate DueApril28,2017 HousingcontractsduetoResidentialLifeMay1,2017 MicrofridgeordersduetoResidentialLifeTwoweeksbeforefirstparticipantarrives FinalhousinglistsduetoResidentialLifeHousingContractsHousingcontractsforprogramswillbeofferedonaweeklybasisonly.Participantswillbeallowedtoarriveasearlyasthestartdateofthefirstcontractweekandremainthroughthelastdayofthefinalcontractweek.Thiswillallowprogramparticipantssomeflexibilityonthedateofarrivalanddeparture.However,ifaparticipantleaveshalfwaythroughaprogram,theprogramwillbechargedthroughtheweekoftheparticipant’sdeparture.EachparticipantwillberequiredtocompleteasponsoredhousingcontractwithResidentialLifeuponreceivingahousingauthorizationemail.Failuretodosomayresultinnohousingforaparticipant.HousingcontractsareduetotheOfficeofResidentialLifenolaterthan2weekspriortothestartofyourprogram.Thesecontractsoutlineprogramdates,enrollment,andspecialneeds,suchasmicrofridgerental,etc.HousingcontractsarebindingagreementsbetweencampusprogramsandResidentialLifeandareusedforplanningpurposes.GuestRegistrationForsecurityreasons,theOfficeofResidentialLifeisrequiredtokeepaccuratehousinglistsofallstudentsandguestslivingintheresidencehallsduringthesummermonths.Forthisreason,wearerequiredtoobtainthefollowinginformationregardingeachparticipantinyoursummerprogram:GroupNameName(FirstandLastName)Gender(Male/Female)DateofBirthInstitutionOvernight/DayParticipantInformationCheck-in/Check-outDates

EmailAddressCellPhoneNumberRoomPreferenceandRoommateRequestTheformcanbefoundonlineathttps://www.rochester.edu/reslife/assets/pdf/2016-17/Participant-Registration-Form-2017.xlsxandmustbeusedtosubmitparticipantlists.Onceroomassignmentshavebeenmade,housinginformation,suchasthebuildingandroomnumber,willbedistributedtoprogramadministrators.FinalhousinglistsshouldbesubmittedtoResidentialLifenolaterthantwoweekspriortothedatethefirstparticipantisscheduledtoarriveoncampus.ListsshouldbesenttoFazeelahChappell(fchappel@reslife.rochester.edu).ParticipantswhoneedtoleavecampusformedicalorotherreasonsdeemedappropriatebyResidentialLifewillbechargedthroughtheweekoftheparticipant’sdeparture.Participantswhochoosetoleavecampushousingbeforetheendoftheirprogramwithouttwoweeks’noticetoResidentialLifewillbebilledfortheentiretyoftheirreservationortwoweeksaftercheckingout,whicheverisless.IDCards/PublicSafetyAphotoIDcardfromtheUniversityofRochesterisrequiredforanyparticipantstayingincampushousingforlongerthanoneweek.Inthecaseofanemergency,thiswillallowtherespondingPublicSafetyofficerormedicalstafftoidentifytheparticipantandhis/herrelationshipwiththeUniversity.NamesofallparticipantsstayingoncampusandtheirassignedroomswillbesubmittedtoPublicSafetypriortotheirarrivaloncampus.Uponcheck-in,participantswillreceivetheirroomassignmentsandapacketofinformationprovidedbytheResidentialLifeoffice(includingemergencyprocedures,phonenumbers,officehours,etc.).ParticipantswillalsoreceiveatemporaryUniversityconferencecardthatallowsthemaccesstotheirassignedresidencehall.OncetheparticipantreceivesaUniversityphotoID,heorshemustreturnthetemporaryconferencecardastheirnewphotoIDcardwillbecodedforresidencehallaccess.Failuretoreturntheconferencecardwillresultina$15replacementfeebilledtotheprogram.OnceanewIDisproduced,thestudentshouldcometothemainResidentialLifeofficeinthebasementofSusanB.Anthonytohavethecardofficialcodedwithaccess.ToobtainURIDcards,participantsshouldvisittheIDOffice:SusanB.AnthonyHall MedicalCenterCustomerServiceCenter,1stFloor G-700910:00am–4:00pm,Monday-Friday 8:00am–4:30pm,Monday-FridayPhone:(585)275-3975 Phone:(585)273-2000StudentIDcardsarefreeforvisitingandcurrent/incomingURstudents.Ifacardisdamaged,itwillbereplacedatnocharge.Thereisa$15.00chargeforlostcards.VisitorsmustreturntheirUniversityphotoIDcardandresidencehallkeysuponcheck-out.GuestCheck-In

O’BrienHallisthenewestdormontheRiverCampus,builtin2012,andoffersanassortmentofsingleanddoubleoccupancyrooms.ItislocatedintheJacksonCourtareanearAndersonandWilderHalls.Atotaloffivefloorscomprisethebuilding,whichhasacapacityofnearly120students.Floorloungesincludeflatscreentelevisionsandstudyroomswithwhiteboards.Therearetwolargebathroomsperfloorandlimitedkitchenfacilities.Thebuildingisalsofullyair-conditioned.Eachroomiscarpetedanddoubleroomshavesinks.Eachdoubleroomisfurnishedwith:(2)singlebeds(extra-longtwinbed)(2)three-drawerdressers(2)wardrobeclosets(2)computerdeskswithchairs(2)bookshelves(2)wiredandwirelessconnectionsRiverviewApartmentsofferprivatebedroomsandbathroomsintwo,three,andfourperson-bedroomapartmentswithfullkitchens.Airconditioning,laundryfacilities,andwirelessandwiredInternetconnectionsareotheramenitiesineachbuilding.Eachbedroomintheapartmentincludes:(1)singlebed(extra-longtwinbed)(1)two-drawerdresser(1)closet(1)smalldeskwithchair(1)wiredandwirelessconnections(1)privatebathroomBuilding,Kitchen,&LaundryFacilitiesKitchenfacilitiesvarybylivingarea(seedescriptionsabove).Participantsareresponsibleforbringingtheirowncookingutensils(pots,pans,silverware,etc.)aswellascleaningupaftertheyusethefacility.Itisstronglyrecommendedthatanyfoodleftincommunityrefrigeratorsislabeledtoavoidconfusionanddispute.Eachresidencehallisequippedwithlaundryfacilitiesforsummerresidents.Washerscost$3.00perload;dryersarefree.

Facilitiesissues,suchasalackofhotwater,afloodedtoiletorshower,abrokenwindowormissingscreen,shouldbedirectedtotheFacilitiesCustomerServiceCenter.Thecontactnumberis585-273-4567andisopen24hoursperday,sevendaysaweek.Whenindoubt,theSummerHousingServiceDeskinGilbertisalsoagoodresource.MicrofridgesAcombinationrefrigerator,freezer,andmicrowave(microfridge)isavailabletorentforsummerhousingparticipantsstayingintheresidencehalls.Eachunitis$115.00forthesummerandmustbeorderedthroughtheOfficeofResidentialLifenolaterthanMay1,,2017.ThisinformationwillbeincludedinyourSummerHousingcontract.Pleasenote:Therecanbenochangestocontractmicrofridgenumbersduringtheweekbeforeparticipantarrival.Unitswillbedeliveredtotheparticipants’roomswithin48hoursofcheck-inandpickedupdirectlyfromtheroomsafterdeparture.LinensResidencehallbedsareextra-longtwinsize.Alinenservicewillbeofferedbyresidentiallifeforprogramsthatareinterested.Participantsareresponsibleforprovidingtheirownlinens.Participantswhoarenotabletobringtheirlinensshouldbeencouragedtopurchasethematlocalstores,includingattheMarketplaceMall(JCPenney,Macy’s,etc.),Target,orWalmart.TheselocationsareeasilyaccessibleonSaturdaysviathesummershuttle.CableTelevisionCableisfreetoallsummerparticipants.CampusTelevideoprovides120newsandentertainmentchannels,includingthemajornetworksandlocalstations.Participantsareresponsibleforprovidingtheirowntelevisionsiftheywishtohaveasetintheirroom.CommonareasandloungesinsomeoftheUniversity'sresidencehallsareequippedwithtelevisionsandfullcablepackages.ThisserviceissubjecttochangeandisregulatedbytheOfficeofResidentialLife.GuestNetID(InternetAccess)AllsummerparticipantswillbeabletoaccesstheInternetintheresidencehallsoncetheyhaveacquiredaGuestNetID.ThisserviceprovidesthekeytomostURtechnology,andwillallowaccesstothecampuslibraryandITSlabprinting,ResNet,studente-services,interlibraryloan,Blackboard,andmanyotherapplications.
