The Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches set sail at this month’s Business After Hours Event. On Wednesday, June 24, more than 100 attend-ees took time after a produc-tive day at work to come cruise with us aboard the Majes-tic Princess. They connected with fellow Chamber members and gained potential business referrals.

It was an evening of net-working over drinks, appetiz-ers and sightseeing — all whilst enjoying the panoramic Intra-coastal Waterway of West Palm Beach. We hope to see all of you at our next month’s Business After Hours event at the Residence Inn West Palm Beach Downtown. Be sure to register at palmbeaches.org as space will be limited.

The Chamber announces Florida’s State Surgeon Gener-al John Armstrong, MD, FACS will be the guest speaker at the July 16 breakfast. Dr. Arm-strong was appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as Surgeon Gener-al and Secretary of Health for the State of Florida on April 27, 2012. A graduate of Prince-ton University, the University of Virginia School of Medicine and the United States Army Command and General Staff College, Dr. Armstrong believes that education and training are drivers for change. Dr. Arm-strong came to the Florida Department of Health having previously served as the Chief Medical Officer of the USF Health Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Sim-ulation in Tampa, where he worked to bring health care professionals together through hands-on team training.

The breakfast is sponsored by Good Samaritan Medical Center, celebrating 95 years of serving the community, and will be held at the Palm Beach County Convention Center promptly at 7:45 a.m. on July 16. Please register at palm-beaches.org, or contact Jamie Walton at [email protected] for more information.
