SAFETY & RULES Overview

K&M Shooting Complex is a “cold range”. All firearms are to be kept in a safe “bolt open and

back” condition until on the firing line and given the command to load. Even so, all firearms will

be treated as if they are loaded. Chamber flag use is mandatory. Do not come off the firing line

without a chamber flag in your chamber. Violations will result in a match disqualification. If you

lose your provided chamber flag, replacements can be purchased.

All movement during stress events will be conducted with magazine in and bolt open and back.

Keep your finger out of the trigger guard until you are under glass, the target has been identified

and you are ready to fire. Negligent discharges or accidental discharges will result in removal

from the competition.

Muzzles will be pointed down range or into a safe direction at all times. Do not “flag” fellow

competitors or Range Officers. A strict 120 degree rule will be enforced during every stage.

Violations will result in a match disqualification. No drying firing or practicing unless on the

firing line and the Range Officer has given permission to do so.

Every target will have a backstop. Properly identify your target and backstop before engaging. If

a target doesn’t have a berm directly behind it, a maximum range will be provided during the

event brief. Do not shoot into the neighboring property. Violations will result in removal from

the competition.

All competitors are safety officers, if you see a safety infraction politely and respectfully assist

each other in conducting a safe match. If there is a disagreement, notify the range officers and we

will take care of it.

Competitors are encouraged and expected to assist all shooters over the weekend. Discussions

and talk on strategy are allowed and encouraged to build camaraderie and to assist new shooters

in gaining experience in the sport. Shooters may not be not be assisted while on the clock or fir-

ing line. Assistance before and after a stage is authorized.

Shooter may be chronographed at the MDs discretion to ensure the 3200fps limit is not violated.

Each shooter must check/initial their score before leaving each stage. The score keeper/RO will

allow you to view the hit/point total written by your shooter number. If a shooter chooses not to

initial their score and leave the stage, he or she forfeits all rights to challenge that stage result after

the fact. Verify your score but do not disrupt the next shooters stage. If there is a discrepancy

shooters will have a "challenge period" to discuss the disagreement. That challenge period will

last as long as that event is on going or before the next event starts. If the range officer and com-

petitor can not come to an understanding, a senior range officer will mediate. If necessary one of

the match directors will be the final determination. Good sportsmanship and professionalism

usually promotes a rapid and amenable conclusion.

The combined scores of the Skill Stages will be used to determine tie breakers. If tied shooters

receive the same combined score, the combined time to the nearest hundredth of a second will be

used to determine which shooter receives the higher score.

Unsportsmanlike conduct by any participant will not be tolerated. Do not attempt to change

squads. Pick up your trash and brass. Be safe and lets have fun!

A NOTE FROM THE MATCH DIRECTOR

Competitors, Welcome to K&M Shooting Complex! I hope you enjoy the facility, course of fire and the State of Tennessee during your stay this weekend. A lot of time as been spent designing a fast paced match that balances down time and has a challenging course of fire with out “running up the round count” or giving you impossible “time hacks or shenanigans”. However, we need your assistance in being prepared and ready when you are on “deck”. Many of our stages will run stages within stages and count your “prep time” while another shooter is shooting. Please pay attention and assist the range officers in running a good match. This weekend we will shoot over 35,000 rounds. Every range officer is human and is a shooter like you. We have designed redundancy in high risk or long range stages so we will have multiple spotters and electronic devices to elimi-nate mistakes. If something slips through, bring it up to the range officer calmly and we will make it right. There will be 23 stages, shot from 8 different ranges and over 50 different fir-ing locations during the match. The course of fire will test and train disciplines from across law enforcement, military and practical marksman spectrums. The COF requires 199 rounds to complete the match. There are 199 points possi-ble for the match. Day one will have 12 stages with 111 rounds required and 111 points possible. Day 2 will have 11 stages with 88 rounds required and 88 points possible. In order to run a professional match please assist us by not being late. We will start on time preferably with you, but without for the sake of others. Lets have a safe, competitive and fun event. Thank you supporting K&M Preci-sion Rifle Training and Kahles Optics!
