About The Event

A national class 10K road race run entirely within the beautifulAbacoa community complex, starting in the downtown business areaand continuing throughout the six neighborhood communitiesfinishing at ‘home plate’ inside Roger Dean Stadium, the springtraining site for the Florida Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals.

Concept and Objectives: A creative kickoff to the Major League Baseball spring training

season in south Florida.

Engage the Abacoa community of six neighborhood associationsand help stimulate the downtown businesses in a spirited familyparticipatory event.

Produce a race that south Florida runners can continue toexpect from the management team of Dave McGillivray Sportsenterprises.

Provide the catalysis for fund raising to benefit various youthgroups in Palm Beach County through the Cardinals – MarlinsFoundation and the DMSE Children’s Fitness Foundation.

Conduct a kids’ event as a major part of the 2-day festivities bypartnering with the Palm Beach County elementary/middleschools and the Jupiter Police Department-“Cops-n-& Kids FunRun”.

About Our Race Director

Dave McGillivray is owner and President of Dave McGillivray SportsEnterprises, Inc. For 28 years, “DMSE” as its known, has producedmass-participatory athletic events nationally and internationally.

Dave is Race Director of the world’s oldest and most famous roadrace, the B.A.A. Boston Marathon for which he has worked tirelesslyfor 23 years.

Road Race Management and Running Times Magazine namedMcGillivray Race Director of the Year in 2000.

McGillivray was inducted into the Running USA Hall of Champions inJanuary 2005. The Hall of Champions is intended to celebratemembers of the running industry of the sport. Inductees arenationally prominent, and have a life time of achievement,motivation, service and leadership in the running community.

Team DMSEThe company name, Dave McGillivray Sports Enterprises, impliesthat “DMSE” is Dave’s alone, however, anyone who has ever been to aDMSE event knows that Dave has assembled a group of people, who intheir own right, have a reputation of excellence, creativity and theability to get the job done.
